He was Jack-o-latern to me. He made the best cheeseburgers and taught me to put mayonaisse on them. He was the loved father of a family friend. Blessings always to Lisa and Kurt.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. McFadden. He was always so kind and thoughtful to me when I worked at CVWD. I can still hear his voice when he would call to ask a question or to respond to one I may have asked him. I have a couple photos of the two of us that always make me smile with fond memories of that time in my life. He was special.

Lisa, So very sad to hear of your great loss. He was a very fun and funny guy. I know that you adored him! I hope that the wonderful relationship you have had with him all of these years and all of your loving and caring will give you a measure of comfort and peace. I think of you often and will keep a prayer in my heart for you and your family. Love you, Jana

Lisa and family, My sympathy and prayers are with you. I had such respect and appreciation for Jack. He was trustee a large part of our time at College of the Desert. He was truly a gentleman and Community servant respected by all. I have such fond memories of Jack, Bev and Elizabeth. May God hold you in the palm of His hand as you go through this trying time. A truly wonderful man. I am blessed to have known and worked with him. A great boss who led, and taught by example. My father law, Mike McGarry and I enjoyed riding with Jack years ago. He was as decent, kind and thoughtful of his mount as he was his friends and associates. Men like Jack are so rare, so valuable, he will be missed.

Jack served the City of Rancho Mirage as a Planning Commissioner (and as its Chairman), as a City Councilman and as its Mayor. I will never forget his last City Council meeting when the room was filled with huge signs that read WE LOVE YOU JACK.

Jack's time in the Navy, his career leading SCE and CVWD, Rancho Mirage and numerous organizations are testimony to his life of service to our desert communities.

Thank you Herminia for the great care you gave this deserving man. I am sad that I never visited Jack at Herminia's house during the last several months.

Lisa and Kurt, may God bless you and Jack and keep you close now and forever.

When I joined the faculty of College of the Desert in 1969, Jack was serving as a member of the College's Board of Trustees. Over the years, I had the opportunity of getting to know him and to appreciate his strong commitment to the College and to our Coachella Valley as a whole. He was a fine community servant. I offer my sincere condolences to his family, especially to his daughter, Lisa, who is likewise so committed to our college and its students. My wife, Paula, and I consider it a privelege to have known Jack. Sincerely, William R. Kroonen
