Joe was my oldest friend in the desert. We went through elementary, middle and high school together. I have never known a kinder or gentler soul. the world is a little bit darker with his passing.

My wife and I are very saddened to hear about the passing away of our long time friend Joe Ingram. I talked to Joe by phone in late May and we shared memories in a nice conversation during that time. His health was deteriorating at the time but he was still active in all of life's daily responsibilities. I never thought he would be gone this soon and his passing is quite unexpected. I have been blessed to know Joe for over 50 years. We have shared times together through the good and bad and always continued to keep in contact even after we moved away from the desert to retire in Utah. Joe was a very unique and talented individual who was a long time resident of the desert area who saw and experienced the changes that took place over many decades while living in the Coachella Valley. He was a historian in his own right. He was a true woodsman in his spirit, along with his lifestyle, and loved the outdoors. He was very skilled at all types of woodworking and wood refinishing. He was good spirited even though sometimes he was more than willing to vigorously debate life's issues but always made an effort to not offend others feelings. He was so courageous in his past battle with cancer that he fought and eventually overcame. So much to say good about Joe as those who knew him will understand. One thing for sure is that he will be missed greatly and it was a pleasure to know him and to call him a friend. He was the best man at our wedding and I certainly will never forget that very happy day. He was a one of a kind in so many ways. Joe will live on in our memories and our hearts and we hope to see him again in another place. May God's blessing and grace be upon you Joe. You certainly were a blessing to us.
