Luis Guillermo Sobero, 86 of Palm Desert passed away peacefully on April 5, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Lima, Peru, on September 1, 1926, to Pablo Sobero and Carmen Cornejo. He was a retired Engineer and Educator with studies in Peru and Israel. He moved to the United States in the 1980s, resided in Orange County and was a long time resident of the Coachella Valley. He married Andrea Sobero, the love of his life and wife of 56 years whom he leaves behind. They had six children: Andrea Sobero, Dr. Pablo Sobero (Eva Reyes), Eduardo Sobero, Dr. Ana Sobero (César Vallejo), Alberto Sobero, all of Palm Desert. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Guillermo Sobero (Fanny Alva). He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Aimee Sobero, Paul Sobero, Andy Sobero, Louis Sobero and Caesar Vallejo, Nicholas Vallejo and Gabriella Vallejo. Papa Guille shared and equal love and devotion for his birth country Peru and his home country the United States. He was a true American at heart. An avid reader who loved classical music, and an undying fan of the LA Lakers. In his younger years he was a track and field athlete and excellent swimmer and gymnast. In the latter years of his life, he enjoyed doting on and spending time with his grandchildren and brought happiness to those around him. A compassionate and loving family man who instilled the importance of Education in all his children. Papa Guille lived a full and happy life and saw his dreams accomplished. He will be missed every day. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 5-9pm at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cathedral City and Mass and Internment on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 9am at Forest Lawn and at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City.
