Bill was one of the first friend we made when we moved to La Quinta. He introduced us to some of the great golf courses out here. He was a wonderful friend.

My heart felt condolences to Kerry and the entire Burton family on the passing of Bill. He created quite a legacy and his memory will live on in his children and grandchildren.

Bill & I grew up together in Waterloo, Iowa. Went to the Westminister Presbyterian Church (he, Duane Heartlip, & I were in a christmas pagent together. Three Wisemen , 9 year olds, walking down the aisle in church and all of a sudden one of the offerings (music box's started to play) Three Kings laughing all the way.
Next Advanture. Bill was stationed at Tyndall AFB in Florida.
I flew into Tyndall out of Dover AFB on a turnaround.
Who do I run in to, but Bill in his flight suit in the weather room. We couldn't stop talking and rubbing elbows. We couldn't stop talking. We my flight took off, we went straight up over the tower and turned on the afterburners.
Bill said he'd always remember that wave of good by.
Great friend and person. Lots of memories. I hope to see him later up there!

I will always cherish our time at the dog park with Bella and Joyce. Our trip to the Doodleromp was the best. Its very rare to meet a solid citizen these days, but I met one when I met you.A gentleman, and a great American.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joyce and the Burton family.
