Dear Howell family. I am sadden to hear of Freddies passing. Fred & I go way back 69.We went to Woodstock together. The first time I went to pick up Fred from his house he took me into his bedroom and showed me his chopper that he was working on. It on his bed and Fred slept on the floor. Then Fred showed up at my door and was on crutches he wanted to go to Woodstock. He had made freinds with this guy from South Korea. The Guy under Freds orders went out and bought a bran new corvett. So the 3 of us took off. We got about 7 miles away from the party and hit a road block of parked empty cars. I told Fred that I was not going to carry him for that. SOOO we drove back to to Riverdale and partied for 3 days there. Fred & I use to ride together, he use to fix my chopper at the shop in South Norwalk.
I moved away in 77. But when I saw Fred about ten years latter He hugged me smiled we laughed like we just saw each other the other day!!! I am sorry for your lost.

Mrs Howell and Dinky - Please accept my sympathy. I'm sure Fred will be very missed. Like many of us, we have go many great memories from years ago. Freddy was always the life of the party. Always with a smile. And me being Danny's little sister, Freddy always stuck up for me. He was my idol when I was a little girl. He was a large part of my growing years. Never did I hear a bad word about anyone from him. He was everyone's best friend and always willing to help. I will miss you my friend. You left much too young. Until we meet again............

"I don't know you Fred, but I work with your charming friend Anne Weeks. I pasted your obit. on my fridge to remind me how I need to live my life going forward...
Kudos to a life well lived.
I have known Freddy since I was a little kid and to say he was one of a kind is a gross understatement. From times at the Heartbrake Hotel to the bars on Water Street never have I laughed so hard. RIP brother.
I will miss Freddy calling me "grasshopper" because I never stayed in one place! He was kind, fun-loving and very generous. Oh, what a great time we had together, forever in my memories. My prayers and thoughts are with his family, he will be missed.
Drinking and dancing at Skippers. Eating at Dunville's. Riding home in the storm from North Port -- good thing we got those jackets! Playing the organ & singing 500 Miles. Dropping anchor at Cockoene. Hanging out at the house, playing pool or working on the train table. For these and so many more memories too numerous to list here, we say "Thank you, Thing."
And,the one joke you taught me that I could (and did) repeat to my son: "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "Olive." "Olive who?" "Olive you!" We really do and we miss you greatly & will remember you always. Your brother and sister -- Root and Arden, and you nephew, Mathew.
An American original!! Free Spirit, Kind, and always....A Smile...Shake it up Freddie with your fellow souls in God's Great Kingdom.
Freddie and I were friends long ago and I will never forget him. I couldn't! And who would want to? Indeed, Freddie was unforgettable. Great fun and massive talent.
Mrs. Howell and Charlie I am sorry for your loss. I have a clear memory of Freddie putting his arm around his mother and telling any who would listen,"This is my best girl!" You knew he meant it.

As you mourn the passing if your son, brother, I too will be missing the wonderful memories we shared,he was my first real love, and lives on in my photos and my heart.

Your pain and your hunger,
They're driving you home
And freedom, ohh freedom.
Well that's just some people talking
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
Thinking about Freddie instantly brings a smile to our faces. He has left us with great memories until we meet again

My deepest sympathy is with you as you mourn the love of your son and brother, Freddie,I recently spoke to him, as he filled me in on how happy he was, although many years had passed, Freddie remained the same, searching for ways to bring laughter into the conversation, as he expressed private thoughts. My first love, and my everlasting kind thoughts of you will remain forever..
My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Howell and family. I have known Fred for over 40 years. Fred always danced to his own drummer but always a smile, hand shake and a story. RIP Fred.

Fred was truly a fun man to be around and did live his life his way ! rest in peace my friend !
Fred was my good friend. He was always big hearted and generous. When Jimmy McGrath passed away, we went over to see his parents, and he put his arms around jimmies mom and they cried together. We shared alot of adventures, but what I remember most was him always laughing at our bad situations, and making jokes about how it only happens to him. I will miss him dearly, and would like to share more stories here before this site goes away.
That silly wind will soon begin and I'll be on my way
And I feel like I just want to travel on
Sorry Freddy, forgot to tell you to duck, sucker. Will never forget you or the good times. Thanks for the laughs.
