Vasilios Petrides
Norwalk Resident
Vasilios “Billy” Petrides, 57, of Norwalk, husband of Harriet Lashinsky Petrides, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Norwalk Hospital. Born November 9, 1956 in Greece, he was the son of Spiros and Kasiani Keskilidis Petrides. Billy worked as a Mason for Union Local #1 and served as a member of the National Guard. He was also an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving and selfless husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife Harriet and parents Spiros and Kasiani, Mr. Petrides is survived by his two sons, Timothy Petrides and Matthew Petrides and his wife Allison; and by his daughter Ashley Petrides. He is also survived by his granddaughters Kaylin and Charlotte Petrides and by his sister Alexandra Nikiforos, her husband Dimetrios and their daughters Debbie and Kasi as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Johnny Petrides. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM for a Memorial Visitation in Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. Services will be private. Contributions in his name may be made to: Norwalk High School Wrestling (funds will be allocated between the Neil Godleski Memorial Scholarship Fund and Norwalk H.S. Gone are the teenage days when Aleka and I used to torture Billy and Johnny with our funny pranks, but those memories will always still live on, and on...thinking of you all at this very sad time.
