As we flew home from New York, I continue to have talks with myself (and Doug) and have summed up that though not long enough, Doug had a wonderful life. As I am able to spend more time with his family I continually see where his wonderful core stems from. In the last 11 years I can tell you he lived his motto of "work hard and play hard". And,with his intuition he followed his own path and did not, "Listen to the Masses". He was definitely one of a kind and I will do my best to follow his lead.
The Services for Doug were phenomenal, so touching and honorable. I know if Doug was in attendance, this would have been something he would be telling our friends about for days. The Family did such a wonderful job displaying the man that he was and became. As I arrive home, it is still so unbelievable and shocking that we are going to continue in this life without him. But, I know that Doug would want me to stand strong and get moving forward taking care of life matters, our office and associates.
