David & Linda:
I'm not sure how I missed the sad news that "Mrs. Poole" had passed away. What a kind and sweet woman she was. I'm sure she knew in her heart that you would both carry on in her wonderful and caring ways. Such fond memories I have of her during our high school years. I am so sorry for your loss. David and Linda and families
You guys are in my thoughts. I am so sorry for your loss and wish I could be there with you all to celebrate her life.
Your Mom always made me feel like part of your family, welcomed and loved. Some of my best memories will always be of the vactions to Virginia Beach.
I was so happy to have had the chance to spend some time visiting with her at the family gathering last year at the Hotel.
She was such a fine person, who was loved by many and will be missed.
My thoughts are with you. Much Love Eddie

Mrs. Poole was a great person, wonderful neighbor and as the Etna Post Mistress she helped so many people by listening to them as they came in and out of the Post Office. I remember when I was 6 or so I was supposed to dress up as an important figure for Etna Field Days and I picked Mrs. Poole---she was an amazing asset to Etna. Much love to Linda, David and their families.

If Etna had had a Mayor, Dorothy Poole would have been it! She was a great lady and a great example of a public servant.

My Mom was, kind, generous, smart, funny, and interested in almost everything. She new her birds, her politics, her family and friends. She loved her family, her family was her passion. Her and I spoke every Saturday morning for 37 years. We covered all world events and tried to cure all the worlds evils. As she would say , to bad no one listens to us because we have it all figured out. Who will I talk to now on Saturday mornings. To anyone reading this, family or friend she cared for you. She cared for everyone. That was my Mom.

Linda and Family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I too knew Dorothy and she was warm and wonderful lady to know. As my Sister Peggy said, Mom (Lois Scutt McKane) and she were close and I remember Mom speaking of her fondly over the years on my visits home to NY. I also remember seeing her from time to time over the years on those visits with Mom. She will be missed my many.

Linda and David,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I loved Dorothy very much. I remember working with her in my dad's store and working with her in the post office. We had a good time. I remember her as a very special person who would help you if you needed it or listen to you if you needed to talk. I saw her a few years back in the Etna post office getting her mail and she hadn't changed. I know you will miss her dearly but remember the memories you have of her will get you through the tough times. My thoughts and prayers are with you. And just think, she and dad are in heaven having their morning coffees together again like they did in the store.

I have many great memories of both your Mom and Dad, although not related by blood I feel as close as a brother to Dave.
