Leonard Lintala Obituary
Yulee, FL: Leonard W. Lintala, 85, Yulee, FL, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Baptist Medical Center at Fernandina Beach, FL. He was born in Dafter, MI on July 1, 1927 the son of Matt and Minnie (Koski) Lintala. Leonard was a veteran of WWII having served in the Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1953 from Ithaca College. He retired as a CPA from Exxon Mobil in Rochester, NY. Leonard is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Kaiser) Pakkala Lintala; son, Eric (Barbara) Lintala, Webster, NY; son, Drs. Alan (Janet) Lintala, Beckley, WV; daughter, Christine (Keith) Pelz, Silver Creek, NY; 7 grandchildren, Alissa, Eric, Aidan, Mason, Pierson, Adrienne, Karen; 3 stepchildren, Cheryl Fahs, Trumansburg, NY, Walter Pakkala, Yulee, FL, Shelly Mix, Annville, PA. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian (Wargelin) Lintala; daughter, Karen Lintala; grandson, Grant Lintala; 2 brothers, Emil and Arthur Lintala; sister, Lillian Foreman. Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at North Van Etten Church on Langford Creek and Shaffer Roads. A service will follow at 2 p.m. Spring interment will be in La Row Cemetery, North Van Etten, NY. Allen-Manzer Funeral Home of Spencer, NY and Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors of Fernandina Beach, FL are assisting the family.

So very sorry to hear of Leonard's passing we have missed chatting with him the last couple of years .he was a great neighbor and and old friend of the family many many years .Shelly and the rest of the family please except or deepest condolences and prayers to the family .

Lorraine and family: We are so sorry for your loss and our prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. The lives of the Pakkala's and the Lintala's were linked in so many ways--friends, neighbors and finally part of the same family.
