Habeck, Howard J.

Habeck, Howard J., age 84 of Elmira, NY passed away on February 3, 2014 at the NYS Veterans' Home in Oxford, NY. Howard was predeceased by his parents, Charles J. and Anna K. Habeck, his 2nd wife Margaret Fairbanks Habeck, his step-daughter Nancy Fairbanks Bowman, and his sister-in-law Joyce Habeck. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Timothy) LaNasa of Pine City, NY, Patricia McDonald of Nampa, ID, Diane Habeck of Elmira, NY, and JoAnn (Richard) Swan of Pine City, NY; step-daughter, Ann (Richard) Weber, of Newport News, VA; his brother, Richard Habeck of Elmira, NY; three grandchildren and three great-grandsons, all of Boise, ID, and several nieces and nephews. Howard retired from Borg Warner in Lansing, NY. He was a veteran of the Korean War conflict and proudly served on the Elmira City School District Board of Education and the Chemung County Legislature. There will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
