We rented the upstairs apartment from Jake and Jeannette for a year. We were deeply touched by their generosity, warmth, humor, and strong sense of humanity. Thank you for your gifts to the world.

I remember seeing Jake and Jeanette frequently because my grandparents lived next door... I am so grateful to have known Jeanette and I am sorry to hear of her passing. I will never forget you - and how nice you were when I would kick the ball into your driveway, etc...

I'm sorry to read of Jeanette's passing. I was one of the kids from the neighborhood that grew up spending a lot of time with Jake and Jeanette in that store. My first lesson on holocaust survivors was not learned in school, but at the Red+White store. I will never, ever forget the lesson they taught me, including explaining the numbers on their arms to me at 10 yrs old. May she rest forever in peace. She was a wonderful lady.

Dear Family and Friends of Jeanette Geldwert:
Visiting Nurse Service recently learned of the passing of Jeanette Geldwert. Our clinicians have voiced how much they enjoyed providing Jeanette with home care services during her time of need.
The grief you are experiencing at this time is natural but it can become overwhelming as the realization that life will be forever changed because of the loss of a dear one. This is why we want to make you aware of the bereavement services offered by a partner agency of ours – Hospicare of Tompkins County.
You can learn more about Hospicare services by calling (607) 272-0212 or by visiting their website at www.hospicare.org. Their programs are open to all community members regardless of whether hospice services were used by your loved one.
Each of us grieves in our own way but never alone. Our clinicians want to express how much they cared for Jeanette and their hope that you will find comfort in the memories that will live on forever within you, your family members and friends.
We were honored to be a part of your loved ones life.
With Care and Concern,

Sue Ellen Stuart & VNS Staff
