To Jake and the Geldwert Family,
I remember Mrs. Geldwert at Jake's. I remember the two of them, they fussed and they laughed. I asked them about the numbers on Jake's arm. He said it came from people who did not like him because he was a Jew. I was only 5 years old, but I clearly remember the conversation. She was Jake's right arm! There were times I'd be short a few cents when buying candy and she would let me have the candy anyway. She'd say "you bring it next time" KNOWING that she wouldn't ask for it. It was an unspoken understanding that we had. There would be times where she would be fussing at Jake and he would say something in Hebrew and she would smile. She taught me the word "Shalom". I remember that it was clear that they loved eachother very much. Those memories I will hold in my heart. May God comfort Jake and her family during this time. She will always be remembered. Rest in His Peace - Dear Friend.
