We had only known Phyllis for a few years, but the first time I met her I fell in love with her.
We moved into our condo at Derby Downs and didn't know a soul and she came to set with us at a xmas get together and made me feel so welcome.
She was fun and made you feel special, and I know she must be in a perfect place now with loved ones and her God.
My heart hurts at her passing, but I am so thankful to have known her.

Where should I start. I first met you two years ago. I was immediately impressed by your intelligence, your kind disposition, and your keen sense of reality. I enjoyed listening to the things you had to say because unlike so many others, there was something to be learned. I'm not sure what I loved about you more, your swift wittiness, or your beautiful smile, and although it was only for a short time, I am very thankful to have met you.

I'm thinking about you a lot today grandma. I want to thank you for all of the great memories that you created for us, like being a ballerina because I wanted to be just like my grandma. Do you remember dinner theater? "A" you're adorable "B" you're so beautiful "C" you're a cutie full charm... or how about endless hours at flat rock. You brought our family so close together. I have so many more memories I would love to make with you, and as sad as it makes me that you won't physically be there, I know that you'll always be with all of us. I'm sending you a billion hugs and kisses, I love you so much.

I'm thinking about you a lot today grandma. I can't thank you enough for all of the amazing memories that you created for us. My dream of being a ballerina because i wanted to be just like grandma...and remember our dinner theater? "A you're adorable B you're so beautiful C you're a cutie full of charm...." How about endless hours spent at flat rock with all of the cousins. I remember the only place we ever wanted to be was where you were. We all had a priceless childhood and we owe it all to you. I have so many more memories that I wish I could make with you, and as sad as that makes me, I know that even though you can't be here physically, you will always be here with us all. I hope I can be even half the grandmother that you were to me. I love you more than you could ever imagine. I'm sending a billion hugs and kisses your way!!!!

Dear Family and Friends of Phyllis Grant:
Visiting Nurse Service recently learned of the passing of Phyllis Grant. Our clinicians have voiced how much they enjoyed providing Phyllis with home care services during her time of need.
The grief you are experiencing at this time is natural but it can become overwhelming as the realization that life will be forever changed because of the loss of a dear one. This is why we want to make you aware of the bereavement services offered by a partner agency of ours – Hospicare of Tompkins County.
You can learn more about Hospicare services by calling (607) 272-0212 or by visiting their website at www.hospicare.org. Their programs are open to all community members regardless of whether hospice services were used by your loved one.
Each of us grieves in our own way but never alone. Our clinicians want to express how much they cared for Phyllis and their hope that you will find comfort in the memories that will live on forever within you, your family members and friends.
We were honored to be a part of your loved ones life.
With Care and Concern,

Sue Ellen Stuart & VNS Staff
