Jean & Family,

I am so sorry to hear about Steve's passing -- he will be greatly missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jean and family, I'm so sad at the loss of Steve. Having not seen you all since the early years after Cornell, Steve remains youthful and smiling and excited about the future in my mind's eye. Upon reading about your wonderful family together, I am called back to freshman year when he told Harvey and me that he just hoped to 'meet a nice girl someday' and then of course added a few superlative qualities he'd like thrown in to his vision. He found you and was able to make his dream come true through you and your children. I'm so sorry that he was taken from the people he loved. May you receive strength and peace through memories and his legacy of love and humor and optimism.

Dear Jean, Katie, Lauren and Amanda,
I was very sorry to learn of Stephen's death in my Ithaca Journal earlier this week. I shared the sad news with my staff at the office. All of us extend our heartfelt condolences during this most difficult time for all of you. I'll always remember Stephen's smile and ever-friendly demeanor as he spent his time in my waiting room while you guys were on the other side of the swinging doors. Love and peace to all of you.
