HEATH SPRINGS – Mr. John C. Catoe, 79, of Heath Springs, widower of Laura Mobley Catoe, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 23, 1933, in Kershaw, a son of the late John Calhoun Catoe and Mamie Sims Catoe. Mr. Catoe was a member of Heath Springs Baptist Church. He was a former Springs Industries employee and had retired as postmaster in Heath Springs. Mr. Catoe was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran and was past commander of Stafford Graham American Legion Post 31.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Catoe will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home.
Mr. Catoe is survived by his daughter, Lisa Wolfe and her husband, Larry, of Lancaster; and two grandchildren, Dan Adams and Sarah Adams.
He was preceded in death by a son, John L. "Larry" Catoe.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Lisa and Larry Wolfe, 140 Deerwood Road, Lancaster.

Please know that Cullen and I are thinking of you during this time. I have some sweet memories of John C. from our childhood. I know we kids drove him and your mom crazy at times!
