Mr. Marion "Pat" K. Barton, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 5, 1946, in Lancaster County and was a son of the late Paul Troy Barton and Ethel Jeanette Jordan Barton. Mr. Barton was the husband of Julia "Becky" Moseley Barton. Mr. Barton retired from Mundy Company, was a Mason with Jackson Masonic Lodge and a Shriner with the Hejaz Temple. Pat loved attended church at Zion United Methodist, listening to oldies music and building bird houses for his blue birds. Mr. Barton is survived by his wife of 41 years, Julia "Becky" M. Barton of the home; two daughters, Laura Barton Parker and her husband, George, of Lancaster and Lisa Barton Brooks and her husband, Jeff, of Kershaw; a brother, Donnie Barton of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Chase Parker, Breeanna Brooks and Austin Brooks and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Barton was preceded in death by two brothers, Drennon Barton and Mike Barton; and a nephew, Russell Barton. The celebration of life funeral services for Mr. Barton are 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Zion United Methodist Church, officiated by the Revs. Jim Elder and Wesley Campbell, with a Masonic and military rites burial at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family of Mr. Barton will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 10, at Hartley-Burgess Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or Zion United Methodist Church, building fund, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
