MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Martha Jean Threatt Hamrick, 80, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, N.C.
Mrs. Hamrick was born April 27, 1938, in Lancaster, and was the daughter of the late Turner and Helen Threatt.
She and her husband owned and operated WHIP Radio in Mooresville since 1976.
Mrs. Hamrick is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Glenn Hamrick; children, Harrill Hamrick of Mooresville, N.C., Deanna "DeeDee" Belk (Bruce) of Mooresville, N.C., and William Hamrick of Chicago, Ill.; grandsons, Aaron Belk (Alyssa) of Birmingham, Ala., and Jacob Belk (Jordan) of Mooresville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Maddie, Emery and Kiah Belk, all of Birmingham, Ala.; brother, Curtis Threatt (Ellen) of Lancaster; sisters, Linda Sapp (Ray) of Lancaster and Cindy Threatt of Columbia; and many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, N.C.
Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. in the Cavin-Cook chapel, with burial at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville, N.C. Martha's former pastor, the Rev. Robbie Stollger of FBC Union, officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, SC 29379.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Hamrick family.
