Professor Wallace was a true pioneer and a role model for many at Austin Peay. Sincere condolences to you on your loss.
My sympathies to your family. She paved the way for many students to study women's history.
I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She was a sweet dear woman and your love for one another will always be an inspiration to me. I am so glad to have known her and feel priveledged to call her friend. She will be greatly missed. I will cherish the pieces of jewelry she made me always. God bless you and keep you and comfort you.

Outstanding teacher, better person. I took a number of elective history courses because of her. Blessings on the family.

My deepest sympathy at this time of great personal sorrow in the death of Betty Jo. It is always difficult to give up a loved one. May the special things about her live on inside your heart forever.
John, please accept our condolences on the passing of your Betty Jo. John and I will be remembering you during these difficult times. Love and prayers,
John and Jeanne Sugg
I was a student of Betty Jo's in both junior high and college. She was one of the most influential people in my life. She gave me the greatest gift a teacher can give: she guided me to thinking for myself. When I was given an alumna of the year award at Austin Peay several years ago, I invited her to be my guest. In turned out, she had already been invited by another recipient, a man who had worked on the staff of a conservative president. We both were grateful to her, yet we had come to different views of politics. What a great tribute to Betty Jo. I shall hold her memory in deepest respect for the rest of my life.
John, I am so saddened to learn about the passing of Betty Joe. I am on my way to Virginia and learned through a friend at TSLA. I am sorry not to be able to visit with you and your family during this time. Know that you are in my heart and prayers. Nancy
