The first person I sat next to in the Lakeland Senior Bandroom was Scott in 1983. I remember his brilliant humor and infectious laugh. He was a great musician too. Scott was the most gentle, humble, brilliant and kind friend I ever had. He cared more for others than himself. His brilliance and kind heart made him an exceptional physician. My heart and prayers go to Donna and his beautiful children. I will miss you Scott.

Dr. Swygert was a wonderful doctor and colleague. I worked with him at Lakeland Regional as both a social worker and RN. He agreed to be my mother's MD when she was admitted to the hospital in 2002, and had a wonderful bedside manner with my mom and my family when he gave us the life changing news that mom have Stage IV cancer with mets to the liver. I believe his care made an incredible difference in her diagnosis and care. She died two months later. Additionally, he "stepped up to the plate" again and agreed to be my son's doctor when he was admitted to the hospital with asthma, also resulting in positive results. I will always be thankful for this. He will be greatly missed by many. Thank you for sharing him with those of us whose life he greatly impacted. Karen Tabb/ karen.tabb@gmail.com

Scott compassionately treated our Mom in her last illness which was pneumonia. My family is grateful that she was in such good hands. Our thoughts and prayers are with Donna and the whole family.
