LAKELAND - Juanita Berry went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 7, 2018. She was born in Connersville, IN and moved to Lakeland in 1979. Juanita was a retired elementary school teacher having worked in Nashville, TN and the Polk County Schools. She was a member of Lake Gibson Nazarene Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Juanita loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leo Berry and siblings, Eugene Geise, Jerry Geise and Phyllis Sasser. Survivors include her son, Clark (Lisa) Berry; daughter, Gail (Larry) Smith; siblings, David Geise, Mary Lou Rea, Virginia Stiers, Betty Thomas; grandchildren, Alex Berry, Jill Berry, Ariana Berry, Christian Smith and Mackenzie Smith.
Visitation will be Friday, 1/12/18 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, 10:00am at Lake Gibson Nazarene Church, 6868 N. Socrum Loop Rd. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.

I grew up a few years behind Juanita in Connersville, IN. She was always a gracious person whose life exhibited Jesus. I just ran across this obituary after reading of her passing in the Treveccan. Our prayers for the family.
