I am thankful for everything that Mike did and was. Mike was a unique blend of comedy, humility, family, and faith. His memory lives on in all of us and I feel truly blessed to have known him.
Mike, thank you for being there when I needed you. You are a man who I will always admire and miss.

I remember Mike was one of the first people I met at Bettendorf Assembly of God Church when my family began attending there. He was a good friend, kind, honest, loyal. I remember how he loved to sing! When a friend of our died, he had just a few weeks before told his mother if he died, he wanted Debbie Andrews to play the organ and Mike Pinkerton to sing "How Great Thou Art". Mike did a wonderful job. Another fond memory, was the year I returned to Trinity Bible college for my senior classes. As I drove onto the campus, unknown to me Mike Pinkerton was there and saw me drive in. I drove around to the back of the freshman girls' dorm to drop off my sister Marilyn and another friend, Joy Gay. Mike ran all the way across the campus just to give us a hug and say hi! We hadn't seen each other in years, but he remembered us and loved us enough to make that effort. That really touched us all that day!

It was a delight knowing Mike this side of Heaven. I'll never forget the time he was in a play we did at the church. He played the unbelieving boyfriend of a girl who had become a Christian. To represent his being a "sinner", we used the business of his nearly lighting up a cigarette (the play was done in church). There was a gasp from the audience as he struck the match. He paused, blew out the match without lighting up, and said: "Since you've become a Christian, I feel like a heel just lighting a cigarette." There was thunderous applause from the audience.

Judi, Rachel, Greg, Sara & Will --
Our hearts go out to you, our treasured friends and next-door neighbors. Michael was (and still is) a VERY special man, who impacted many lives, including ours. We grieve your deep loss during this "in between time" until we all join together again around Father's throne.
With love & prayers,
Paul & Linda Searcy and family
