SARASOTA - Rose Ann King passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dell Rapids, SD on December 3, 1922 and moved to Lakeland, FL in 1960.
Rose worked for many years as a nurse anesthetist in Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls hospitals. After moving to Lakeland, she worked as a Registered Nurse for 25 years at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She is a longtime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lakeland.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, George King in 1995, also by 7 of her 15 siblings: brothers, Magnus, Harold, Lawrence, Odilo, Duane and sisters, Maryette and Fern.
She is survived by her son Andrew King and his wife, Linda; grandson Connor King; brothers: Tom, Terry and David Hansen; sisters: Karli Boelter, Erma Berg, Bette Kathol, Grace Entringer and Darlene Nelson.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10:00 - 10:30 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 820 Marcum Rd., Lakeland. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park. Arrangements by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens. Condolences to the family may be offered at www.gentry-morrison.com

It takes a special person to be a good mom, but it takes an even more special person to be the mom of a great son like Andy.
