Deepest Sympathy to the family of Tonya. I have just learned of her death by asking about her at Starbucks this am. I normally do not post things, but since I missed her funeral I wanted the family to know how much she meant to others. I would purposefully go by Starbucks to get my greeting from Tonya. When I traveled around and was passing through the airport at dinner time I knew I could find her at the Lufthansa desk and she would come from behind the counter and give me a Tonya hug. She was always so sweet and interested in other people's lives and making people feel very welcome. She listened, but also shared..... She will be missed and the Lord has a special place waiting for her.

To Tonya's family:
I just learned about Tonya's passing today. My heart is still heavy and saddened by this shocking news.
I will truly miss my Starbuck friend! Tonya was a sweet lady!
My dear friend is not around anymore; but her memories will remain captured in our hearts.
Tonya was like an angel that made our lives beautiful, and now that she is in heaven, we know that she is doing the same.
Tonya's memories are too beautiful to forget!

With love and extreme sadness,

You all are in my prayers during this difficult time. Tonya was a sweet woman who will be greatly missed. I worked with her for a short time and we often laughed about our different experiences, both having attended West Mecklenburg over a decade apart. Be blessed and know she is watching over you.

Such a bright light to so many. Tonya's love for the Lord was undeniable and it showed in her love and witness to others. I'll know she's dancing before Her Jesus today! Colin and Paula Armstrong (SRPC)

Tonya was a beautiful soul & ray of sunshine for so many of us. I, like many, knew her simply through my morning routine - she was one of those people you encounter that showed her glowing spirit with great energy. Her genuine smile was always welcomed. I'm truly devastated to hear of your loss - please know we'll all feel this gap - however, she can rest easily knowing she left a legacy and touched so many of our hearts.

Tonya was amazing! I literally go by Starbucks drive thru everyday and often saw your Mom. She not only (already) knew my order, but would take the time to say Hi to my dog and my kids if they were in the car. She would ALWAYS brighten my day in some way. It didn't matter if the cars were backed up around the cul-de-sac, didn't matter how hectic or how busy, she would always say something nice or funny. If my husband went by to get my coffee without me, she would help him order it because she knew what I liked. She also knew I didn't like the "sticks" or "stoppers" in my coffee and wouldn't let ANYONE put them in just because she cared for her customers. She will be sorely missed and will always remember her fun personality and amazing customer service. Starbucks lost a GREAT employee but most of all you all lost an AMAZING Mother. God Bless you and your family during this difficult time!
