To my beautiful grandmother:
You have been so close to me ever since I can remember and I have so many things to thank you for.
To name just a few: Thank you for always being happy to see me. Thank you for always knowing what the weather would be like when I would call you before school. Thank you for always having a new Disney or Shirley Temple movie for me to watch when I came to spend the night. Thank you for always making my bed and cleaning my messes. Thank you for walking me to school when I was scared to walk alone. Thank you for calling me first thing in the morning to sing me happy birthday every year. Thank you for always sharing your fudgesicles. Thank you for always leaving your door unlocked and never expecting anyone you loved to knock before entering. Thank you for always being home, ready to greet me with a smiling face. Thank you for teaching me how to pose in a photograph so my legs look good. Thank you for always having a wonderful sense of humor. Thank you for never, ever yelling at me. Thank you for remaining a warm, shining symbol of absolute love, comfort, and acceptance in my life and the lives of everyone who loved you.
These things and so many more I will remember for the rest of my life, and look forward to sharing with my children someday. I will so sorely miss all the little things that one does not appreciate until they are gone. I will try to live up to your example of a truly giving woman. I love you grandma.
