Memories and Condolences
for John Yost

Not sure what to say?

Doug,

I just learned of John's passing last week. My sincere condolences to you and the rest of the Yost family. As you know, John and Dan were the best of friends. Dan told me of John's diagnosis several months ago. Little did we know Dan would precede John in death by just several months. When those two got together, nobody could match their sense of humor! And, that goes all the way back to the days when we worked for my stepfather, Bob Utterback, at his Mobil gas station, just before his coaching days. And, your dad, Russ, was his best customer...
Many good memories of Dan and John.

So sad to hear of John"s passing. My sympathy and prayers at this time. John and my brother, Dan Grisdale were great lifelong friends who were both such jokers! They Loved their car shows and telling about what great deals they made. John will always be remembered for his warmth, positive attitude and great affectionate smile! He was one of a kind! So sorry to hear about John. We were friends all the way through school, from Ganiard el. to high school and beyond. We were fighting friends on the playground and I always had a friendship with John. I remember his accident out on old 27 when we were teens and how we all felt about it.I remember how he knocked me out cold with a head butt and we all thought it was funny. Two of my good friends have left this earth, Bruce Johnston, and John. I hope to see them both walking the streets of glory and we will talk it all over.

Your father was one of my best friends in my teen years. He was a great guy and a good buddy. Although I haven't seen him since (I left the central Michigan area) I always remember him fondly and always will.

I was a classmate of John's as far back as Ganiard Elementary School. He was always fun to be around and had a great lust for life. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to once again chat with him at our 50th class reunion. RIP John. You will be missed.

To the Yost family,

I grew up with Jodi, and John was such a jokester, always trying to embarrass Jodi in front of her friends! I think she was more proud of him than anything else.

With warm regards,
