As soon as I heard the sad news of his passing, and though it's been over 50 years, I envisioned him at the front of the class, open book in one hand, chalk in the other. He never raised his voice - always kind and calm. My most sincere sympathy for his family. He will be missed.

Mrs. McKenney/Gladys, Wayne, Mike, Marcia, Linda- what a privilege to have been a neighbor to all of you and your husband/dad. I was, also, fortunate to have had Mr. McKenney (that's who he is to me)as my Algebra 1 & 2 teacher. I, still, tell of what he did/how he conducted our Algebra2 class, it made the class so productive for the advanced and struggling student. I love math, I help kids all the time with math in my daughter-in-law's classroom to understand and appreciate it. I had an experience one time, as a substitute teacher, of having the ENTIRE class want to do more math than was assigned. Unfortunately, as the sub it was not my call. I think a GREAT part of that accomplishment I feel and share for math came because of Mr. McKenney. He is NOT forgotten.

I didn't do we'll in his class but it wasn't his fault!
I will always remember his sense of humor "I speak every language but Greek..."

We have lost a great man in all senses of the word. He was a model husband, teacher, friend, and human being. I am honored to have not only been tutored in math be Bob, but tutored in leading a strong Christian life and faith. His spirit remains with every life he touched and taught

I will never forget Mr. McKenney the day that he chastised the class for laughing at a boy who stood up when he was called on to answer a question. This was in the junior highschool and the boy had just come from Catholic school where it was expected that students stand when called upon. He was appalled and said that 'this young man has good manners and there was nothing to laugh about.' I had deep respect for him ever after. He always expected respect in his classroom.
