Scott and I were school mates at Waterford Kettering. He was my school crush. He was a little pudgie guy as I recall, but smart as a whip, and he always made me laugh. Best guy friend I ever had, and now that I review his interests of yard sales and stained glass I think we could have been good for each other, but my family moved to Las Vegas the year I graduated and we never spoke after that. I have been looking for him through the internet the past few years since my divorce in 2001 as I never forgot him, but somehow I missed this obit. When I read it I was so sad. I can't understand how people who care about each other lose contact as we did. I had only attended one of our High School reunions, I think it was out 10th, and was hoping he might be there, but he wasn't. Classmates.com seemed to have no knowledge of him. My condolences to his family. He was a well loved man. I knew he would do great things and help people. That's the way I remember him.

My condolences to the Whiteside family. Scott was a funny, smart man that I miss greatly. There are so many moments from the years we were friends that I cherish.

I was fortunate enough to have been friends with Scott for over 35 years. We had many breakfasts at the Canterbury Palace on Grand River, shared common interests in stained glass, plants, auctions, camping, and roller coasters. Although I moved to Los Angeles 15 years ago Scott would often be the first person I visited when I came back to Michigan. Up until recently we had been staying in contact on holidays and birthdays. He did make it out to visit me here once which meant a lot to me. Although Scott talked about his family often and I always got the Christmas dinner stories each year. I only met his sister Wendy a few times. I went to Cedar Point with Wendy and Scott one time which i Have fond memories of. I send my deepest sympathies to his brothers and Sisters. Scott was a good friend and was there for me when i needed him. I will miss him very much but am grateful for all of the memories i have with him.
