Frank Sprenger Obituary

Frank Sprenger Frank Dale Sprenger, 89, of Olympia, passed away on January 16, 2013. He was born in Centralia, WA to Paul and Ruby Sprenger. Frank attended school in Renton, relocated to Olympia in the early 1950s, and after owning an appliance business for several years, finished his career at Sears where he was respected by all for his honesty and decency. As an officer and member of the Olympia Elks Lodge for 60 years, Frank cultivated many lifelong friends and was actively engaged in community service. Frank's favorite pastimes included weekend trips to his waterfront cabin, boating, fishing, golf and, above all, entertaining family and friends. In their long retirement together, Frank and Patricia enjoyed outings with the Elks RV Club, overseas travel and escaping to the Arizona sun. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Jean, and children Scott and Kimberly. He also leaves behind two adoring grand-daughters Anna-Marie and Ann Alicia, and great granddaughter, Valerie-Ann. The family has been moved by the outpouring of love from relatives and friends whom Frank cherished. A celebration of his life will be held in Olympia in July. Those wishing to attend should contact Scott at [email protected]. Donations to the American Heart Association in Frank's memory would be appreciated.

When I was a senior in high school and looking for a job, I first met Frank when he and Harry Lockhart were opening their Custom Appliance store on 5th Street in Olympia. I was hired and worked for them until my graduation, then left to attend the UW. Both gentlemen were very nice employers.
