Jerry Wollen Obituary

Jerry P. Wollen On April 4, 2014, former Tumwater resident, Jerry P. Wollen 56, went out with a bang, just the way he would have wanted to, paddle boarding off the coast of Hawaii. He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Glorianne; mother, Ruth (Hugh) Middleton; brother, Randy (Pam) Wollen; daughters, Erica (Brian) Hansen and April Wollen; grandsons, Gunnar, Giovanni, and Gabriel. Jerry's final resting place will be on the beach he loved, near the home he shared with his wife Glo, in Petersburg, Alaska. His family invites you to come together in love to remember the life of their son, father, grandfather, husband, and friend Saturday, April 26, 2014, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the South Sound Church, 1416 26th Ave. NE Olympia.

To Jerry's family, Erica, Brian and Gunner, April,Giovanni and Gabriel: Getting to know your father, how much he loved his children and grandchildren was such a pleasure> He was a wonderful man to know, I am sorry we hadn't the pleasure of meeting his wife. I do know how hard it is to lose a parent. It is with great sadness when we learned of Jerry's passing. He was and is a great guy. I know you will miss him and wonder at times why. God has other plans, he just doesn't always tell us. Know that all of you were loved, kids,grandkids and it will be hard on them also, but at least they did get to spend time with Grandpa Jerry and memories like that will be in their hearts for a life time. Erica and April, your pain is my pain also, know your father was loved by many, he touched so many hearts and we all have fond memories to hold on to. Being a 75 grad at THS with Jerry, i always thought of him as the maverick in our group to excel at whatever he sought out.
After switching winter sports in high school, with his can do attitude, places in State his first year in wrestling.
His humor about his Oakville days was a perfect example of how funny he was. He was the life of the party on graduation night.

Dear Wollen family,
My husband and I were there that day on Kaanapali beach. We tried our best to help and it was with great sorrow that our efforts were unsuccessful. We had worried and wondered what happened to "Jerry". It was only a chance encounter with a paramedic in Maui that we were told of Jerry's passing. We are still in shock that Jerry is gone. Our hearts are full of pain and anger. Jerry, you were so fun and I bet God cannot wait to meet you. I am sure he has some questions on how to become.. The Crabman. We will miss your humor, love, respect and admiration. Rest in peace dear friend.
