John, I told you recently that your heart is as big as Texas...and it is! What a beautiful legacy you have left your family, co-workers and all of the people you directly and indirectly helped for so many years. I can't believe I've known you for 25 years...that went fast; but you have always been a great example to me for showing kindness and generosity to other people. We were all lucky to have you in our lives, John. Rest in peace....

John's positive influence on my career direction and personal life has been tremendous. He was a role model to me of heartfelt leadership that embodies the highest calling of service to our community. The world is a much better place because John was in it and those of us with the great fortune to have known John are better for it.
John spoke so often and so warmly of his family, I felt like I knew them well. Most memorable to me was the obvious joy John took in his role as a father. As far as I could tell, John never missed an opportunity to boast about or share the latest news about his son. My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to Grant, Linda, and those closest to John who are missing his presence the most.

John was a great man in so many ways. His work to help the working families in our area was tireless and so many people benefited from his work that will never know his name. I met John, as many did, during a difficult time in my life because of a major job loss. I was immediately impressed by his compassion and passion for those of us struggling with loss and transition. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those of us that had the opportunity to know him. John you will be missed, even by those that never knew you but had their lives enriched by your efforts.
