Dear Derek and Ron -- my dear cousins:
How I wish we could see each other so I could express my sadness at the passing of your dad in person. We saw him (and your mom) so seldom and yet every time was special since he was such a wonderful man, always kind, patient, and a true gentleman. The last time was 20 years ago when my husband, Don, and I visited Victoria. I feel we were lucky to spend a few days with your mom and dad at that time. They were wonderful hosts and showed us a good time. I'm sure you are shattered by his death and I send you my deepest sympathy. Even though I didn't see him very often, I will miss him very much.

Ron was an outstanding citizen and Rotarian. Ron served as a director during my year as president of the Rotary Club of Ladner. His experience in Rotary and his knowledge of Delta provided a resource that I valued greatly. As an officer and director of Delta Commmunity Foundation Ron did more than his part in making Delta the wonderful community that it is.

I enjoyed lunching with Ron at Rotary meetings and have missed that experience over recent months. His Remembrance Day recollections served as a reminder to us all of the contributions made by so many in their service to Canada.

Thank you for being so understanding regarding the mispelling of your name.
Your father certainly knew who you are and so do we. We had the priviledge of visiting with you many times at Rotary as your fathers guest and enjoyed you immensely.
Your art was a constant reminder on the walls at Waterford for all to see. You are a wonderful artist. Your Dad spoke of your talent many times. Thank you for your understanding.

To my dear and longtime friend Ron and his brother Derek. i am stunned tonight to realize that your Dad has passed on. I was looking for your phone number in NZ when I stumbled across this notice. I wrote you earlier this evening without knowing what has happened. It is 20 minutes past midnight on jan 31 here in Sarnia, Ontario. Call anytime if and when you feel up to it. God Bless. Dear family, I always enjoyed chatting with Ron as we had both travelled and lived overseas and shared common feelings about countries in Latin America and New Zealand. He was a real gentleman and will be missed by members in our club.
