I also knew Ian in high school in Nanaimo. Years later, we met on the street in Vancouver and he showed me a volume of his poetry. What I read, with the Burrard Street traffic whizzing by, has remained with ever since. He was a sensitive, intelligent and artful person. I am honoured to have known him.

Friday January 25 would have been Ian's 65th birthday. I bought a couple of pink primroses to plant in memory of him. Later that day I thought about how Ian would tell me about the snowdrops and crocuses he'd see at this time of year.
Quite a few years ago, Ian told me that someone he knew here in Vancouver had interviewed him and made a little film about it. I'm wondering how to find out who made the film and if it still exists. It would be wonderful to see it!

Ian was a friend from high school and university and then through the mail for the last 20 years. He was interesting, witty, wise and very caring. I'm proud to have been a friend.

Hello Linda,

Other than my Grandparents, I did not know of any other relatives on my Fathers side of the family. If you are ok with it feel free to contact me at seananderson@remaxinthehills.com. It would be nice to learn more about our Heritage. All the best, Sean (Rudkin)

Thank you to all those who attended the Celebration of Life for Ian today at the cafe Death By Chocolate in Vancouver, BC. It was wonderful to be in the presence of other people who loved Ian and had a great appreciation of him. We will be having another get together in January. Let me know if you would like to attend.
