He is and will remain the standard by which Classical Music & pianists will be measured. God bless his family and friends. I have several albums that I still play... now even more treasured.

As a high school student In the70's I owned one Van Cliburn album among my Janis Joplin, Elton John and The Who. I listened to it nightly as I did my homework and created art in my bedroom. I knew nothing about him yet was inspired by his wonderful talent. I just listened to that same album last night. His music will always be special to me. Thank you Van Cliburn. I never knew you but I know you.

First classical piano I ever heard. It was 1968 and I was six years old. I still have that tape and Van Cliburn inspired us all with his music and life. My Condolences to Mr. Cliburn's family.
