BEAUTIFUL MUSIC.WITH THE HEAVENLY FATHER.AND PLAYING,WITH THE ANGELS.THE MUSIC WILL LIVE FOREVER. LIVE ON!! WELL DONE!!!
March 1, 2013
I had the privilege of living accross the street from Van Cliburn and Ms. Rilda Bee in Shreveport, La. Our family had just returned from extensive overseas travel when my father retired from the Air Force.
Our second point of entry was my mother's home in Shreveport.
I played on the stage at the Shreveport Symphony to the tune of "Climbing".
Rilda Bee and Van suggested I take intense piano lessons from from Mrs. McBride. She was strict, but the best instructor I had ever had.
I have to add Van and Ms. Rildia always bought my Girl Scott Cookies(choclate mint).
I was so blessed to be invited to Van's concerts at the Shreveport Symphony.
This I will always treasure.
Van, after my father, was one of the most gracious influence in my musical life.

With many thanks,
Barbara Ann Klucarich

When I met Van,I was an all-night DJ in Fort Worth. He immediately left the impression of being a humble, friendly individual. I jokingly asked him if he enjoyed "country" music. He laughed and said, "I like all kinds of music when it's done well. I even listen to you when I have nothing to do after midnight!" Then, he added, "And I enjoy your program."
What a compliment he was to our city, and our nation.
