ELIZABETH FRANKENFIELD SCHMIDT Elizabeth Ruth (Smith) Frankenfield Schmidt, "Betty", 93, formerly of Lansdale, passed away May 12, 2013. Grandma Betty, as she loved to be called, lived 89 years in Pennsylvania until she decided to move to Virginia Beach, to live near her son and his family. Born February 27, 1920 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret Smith. Blessed with a long, full life, there are many treasured family members and friends who will fondly remember her and their time together, including her son and his wife, J. Barry and Patti Frankenfield; three grandsons, Chris, Colin and Ryan; two granddaughters-in-law, Rachel and Kim; step-daughter, Joan and husband, Lee Schoenherr; granddaughters, Andrea and Erica; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dear, late in life boyfriend, Ed Wall. In addition to her parents, Betty was pre-deceased by two husbands, James Frankenfield and Albert J. Schmidt; her sister Peggy Neff; and her son, Bruce. We know that she is in good company in Heaven. Relatives and friends may call after 12:30PM June 8, at Lansdale United Methodist Church, 300 N. Broad St., Lansdale, followed by a Memorial Service in Betty's honor at 1PM. Burial will be private. Betty was always thanking everyone, and so in her honor, the family wishes to thank all the wonderful, caring people she knew at Dock Woods, she truly enjoyed the Community, and while she had enjoyed living in Virginia, was always a Pennsylvania Girl in her heart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to Living Branches Foundation, Dock Woods Sharing Fund, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale, PA 19446. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
