My sympathy to the family. May the love and hugs of those close to you be a lasting comfort.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Phil's family. In addition to being a neighbor on High Holborn St. in Barre, I worked with Phil for many years at the VT Tax Department and together we helped train volunteer tax preparers and manned the Post Office on tax filing deadline night. He was a great friend and neighbor and I know he is with the Lord and not suffering any longer.

I did not know Phil as well as I might have, as well as I should have. I worked with Phil for too short a time. I found Phil to be quiet and private but he taught much about respect and dignity for others. If Phil had been a football player, he would have been one of Coach Bill's favorites because he never took a day off, if he had been a grunt under General Patton, he would have been one of Patton's favorites for he always knew his job, always did his job and always was moving forward. Upon checking a reference on Phil once I asked the person who answered the telephone if Phil had once worked there. The person said no, but he had once managed the company. Phil never embellished. I did not know Phil well enough, he tried hard to make me a better person. I will miss Phil.
