I am shocked and deeply saddened by this loss. Unfortunately, I found out this news while intending to send an email regarding my mother's passing on September 1st. My father was more than likely one of his first patients (passed away on Nov. 16, 1997) My father - Paul Sutton was swimming to rehabilitate a replaced hip at a Sheppard & Yonge apartment complex, many years ago, just after or as Dr. Yung was nearing the end of his studies and was opening his practice. Neither of my parents had been to a dentist for many years and his gentle manner, knowledge and professionalism was unparalleled. We recommended many of our friends to him over the years. My husband and I continued to go to him many years after we moved to Burlington.
...Deepest sympathies to the family - albeit, late.
Please know that he was a wonderful person, as well as a superb Dentist!
Just found out about Dr. Yung had passed away.
He was undeniably the best dentist.
Our deepest condolences to his family.

SW - North York
I just found out today that Doctor Yung had passed away. The last time I saw him was last October 2012. When he walked into the office, I welcomed him back from his long absence. At the time, I didn't know he had been away because he was undergoing cancer treatment or that he was diagnosed with cancer. When he told me, I was shocked. He apologized for the fact that in his absence, a colleague had to finish my crown that he had started; but he said he kept up with his patients' charts through his office staff. Despite having many patients, he showed genuine concern for me and made me feel like an individual. He proceeded to adjust my bite telling me that the teeth and jaws are like machinery; they have to fit together perfectly or something will go wrong. Besides looking a bit gaunt, I was relieved to see that he seemed to have recovered. Before he left, he gave my cheek his customary pat and said see “You next time.” I am so sad and sorry that there will be no next time.

Doctor Yung had been my dentist for over twenty five years. There is no medical professional I trust more. Even after moving to Markham, I continued to see him. It was only after the birth of my second child that I finally decided it was more convenient to find a local dentist. But no one was more trustworthy than Doctor Yung, and when my two children were grown and it was no longer an issue to go all the way down to his office, I went back to see him. The thing with Doctor Yung is I trusted his advice implicitly. He never recommended anything that didn't need doing, like some dentist might just to pad their pockets. If Doctor Yung said I needed a certain type of work done, I knew it was really necessary.

Doctor Yung was more than just a dentist. Despite having a busy practise, he always made time to talk. It was because I followed his advice that my first born daughter finally slept through the night as an infant. And the fact the he asked about my father made me feel like he cared about me personally.

I don't know if he ever knew how much his patients care about him. It's too bad that as patients, we only think to tell Doctor Yung our concerns and needs. If we had asked about him more, we would have realized what a truly wonderful person he was.
Just found it out. Dr. Yung was the BEST doctor enybody could will for. For 24 years he tool the best care of my family.
Our deepest condolences to his family. To his sons, you should be very proud and honored to be sons of such a distinquished and true gentelman.
