Dear Alan. I miss you. I am sorry I could not be in Toronto for the 1 year anniversary skating. You have accomplished many wonderful things and blessed so many people in such a short time. I am proud of you. I just wished I had time to have said it in person. You left a deep void in my heart. With love always your sister, Mabe
Dear Alan, On Boxing Day,
Mary and I went skating at city hall in your honor and continued your tradition. I wish with all my heart that you were there, playing tag with me like we did as kids.
Thank you for the wonderful moments we shared ... you are painfully missed.
With my eternal love, Nelson
Alan, we went to Nathan Philip Square to enjoy a family skate on your behalf. You loved this place and it is now a tradition for us as well. We miss you terribly but I felt your presence watching and smiling over us as we skated.
I could almost hear you with one of your puns. It made me smile.
Sue (Duncan and the boys) xoxo
Alan - I've been thinking about you and how you left us so quickly a year ago. We miss you at Saturday morning hockey.
RIP my Friend!
Yesterday was a very hard day. Cant believe a year has passed, still doesnt seem real! We have strong kids, it breaks my heart when i know theirs is broken. We shared some funny stories about you yesterday. Jaclyn talked about your "stupid jokes, which only you got." The day was harder for Ethan, he usually doesn't say much.
We think about every day, we know you are with us in spirit, Jaclyn and i can feel your presence. Hope you are at peace.
Love forever, Maggie, Ethan, Jaclyn
Dear Coach Alan:

Heartfelt thanks to everyone for their condolences. I am very proud of Alan for his accomplishments and the positive impact on so many people. A facebook page has been set up for Alan as a way to share the many memories he captured with his photographs over the years. Please send a friend request to "alanpangmemorial" and I will provide access to his facebook page.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the Pang family. We were so sorry and shocked to just hear of Alan's sudden death. He was such a wonderful, kind, generous, loving person who always went out of his way to visit us in Winnipeg. He was especially thoughtful and caring when Bud was diagnosed with Leukemia. We will forever hold him dear to our hearts and cherish our friendship.
With love and prayers to all,
I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Alan's passing. He was so kind and respectful to everyone. I remember his upbeat personality and how nice he always was. He made a strong impression on me when I worked at Aon. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. You're in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you all. Frances Garganis
To Maggie and family, I too just found out today about the passing of Alan and was very sorry to hear that. I remember him as a man with much integrity. My sincerest sympathy to you and Nelson and your families.
Dear Maggie, Jaclyn, and Ethan:
I was just made aware this morning of the sudden passing of Alan. What a shock this must be for all of us who knew of his passion for physical activity. I would like to express my sincere sympathy to all of the family at the loss of a really "gentle man". I hope that the pain that you have experienced at his loss, will be in time, dulled, at the knowledge of the impact Alan had on the lives of those he touched, as is so evident by the sheer numbers of messages and their content that have been left in his memory. He will always be remembered as the first, and so far, only convenor of the Rednor Road street party. What a pleasure it was to have him, and you, his family, as my neighbours.
Dear Maggie, Ethan and Jaclyn, I just heard the incredibly sad news about Alan and there are no words to express my sympathy for all of you. I will pray that you find peace and comfort in the arms of your family and friends. God bless you all .... Trish Gregory

My husband John and I worked with Alan for several years and we were shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. Alan loved to speak about his children and passion for sports. We know he will be missed by many.
I did not know Alan personally but admired him from a distance seeing him practicing and coaching with MDBA. Our son who plays ball against Jaclyn recognized Alan immediately. Our family is shocked to hear this news and all our deepest condolences and prayers go out to the Pang family.
It is with great sadness to hear the shocking news of Alan's passing. My deepest condolences go to his family at this difficult time.
I am extremely saddened to hear of Alan's passing. I was lucky to have met Alan at BEP over two decades ago. Alan stood out then, sharp, aggresive but most of all caring. He always took the time to listen and really cared about people. He even took me to the hospital one day after I was foolish enough to go to work with a rib broken in a soccer game the night before, taking the entire afternoon to wait with me. I had the good fortune of running into Alan pretty frequently over the last couple of years, chatting and going for lunch. He was the same as I remembered, always smiling and loving his family his work and his sports. I cannot put into words how sorry I am that he is gone. My best wishes to your family Alan, may you rest in peace.
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Alan's passing. He was a great dad, coach and friend. He will be missed.
Dear Maggie and the Pang family,
It is with great sorrow that we send our deepest condolences on your sudden loss. We were completely shocked at the news, and deeply saddened. Although we have not kept in touch for the last few years, our memories of the good times we shared together are and will always be in our hearts. Alan was an amazing man we met him, and it appears that he escalated to even greater heights.
Please take care of yourselves, and know that you will always be in our hearts and minds.
Mike, Edna, and Cathy Lee
I was both saddened and shocked to hear of Alan's passing. I have know Alan for many years as both a colleague and friend. He will be missed.
Dear Maggie, Ethan and Jaclyn, we are so sorry for the loss of your husband and dad. He was always there for all of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Denise, Steve and Sabrina Davis
My deepest sympathy is extended to Alan's children and family at this difficult time. I had only known Alan since starting with SCM in Sept. 2011, but was lucky enough to have been the recipient of his caring and thoughtful ways. From when I first started with the company as the Receptionist, he would stop by frequently and ask if there was anything I needed or he could get me as I could not leave my work station without a backup person being there. You will be missed Alan.
I understand that Alan was a frequent skater at Nathan Philip Square. While I did not meet Alan personally, I would like to express the sympathies of all the skating staff at NPS. Alan was known as a pleasant, congenial person. We are saddened to hear of Alan's passing. Yours sincerely, Wendy Jang (Supervisor of Active Living, City of Toronto, Parks & Recreation Division
Alan, you always had the biggest smile and eager to give advice and help in any way you could.......we will miss seeing you in and out of arenas, but please know we will always remember you and keep you in our bedtime prayers.....
Maggie, Jaclyn and Ethan, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.....
Our sincerest condolences,
Rebecca, Lauren and Christian Greco xoxo
Mary and Family. It was a shock to hear the news. I am happy for Alan that his final moments were participating in an activity he loved and shared his gift of coaching with so many others.
Kind Wishes Sue and Cliff
Nelson, Mary, Mabel - we were so shocked and saddened to learn about Alan. Losing a sibling is losing one of the deepest parts of your own self, and we hope that you will feel the love of your family and friends throughout this time, including all of your family in Winnipeg.
This is very shocking and saddening. My deepest condolences to Alan's family during this sad and difficult time.
On behalf of the entire Markham District Baseball Association I would like to express our condolences to the Pang family. Alan was one of the most selfless volunteers we have ever had and we are extremely thankful for his contributions. He did it all from coaching to convening to umpiring and everything in between. There are a lot of kids in Markham that benefited from Alan and his dedicated efforts on the ball field. We will all miss him.
A few years ago, me and some moms from ET Crowle School Coucil were having a meeting at Maggie's house. It was snowing on that night. When we came out of the house, Alan had clear all the snow on the windshield and windows of our cars. It was so nice and thoughtful of him.
My condolences to the family.
We are saddened to hear of the loss of Alan. We have many fond memories of the Toronto Santa Claus Parade and Alan capturing the happy smiles of the kids lined up on the street. We offer our deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time.
Kevin, Kathy, Ellie MacDonald
My deepest sympathies to Ethan, Jaclyn and Maggie. Alan was the one of the kindest and decent person I knew. He understood that being a father was the most important role in his life. I will miss our talks about hockey and baseball. My life was enriched by my friendship with Alan and he will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.
Alan did everything for his kids, and players. He was most sincere about the fun and learning, and did not let winning and losing get in the way. He always had a positive and constructive outlook to everything he did. We will miss him dearly.
Our sincere condolences at this very sad time.
My condolences to Alan's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Alan always took the extra time and care to help his hockey team and players. My deepest sympathy.
Carol and I are deeply saddened by Alan's passing. I knew Alan from playing both hockey and baseball with him. We always stopped to chat whenever we met. Alan helped my girlfriend Carol a lot with information about ADHD which her son has and Alan's niece also has. Alan will be greatly missed in both the MMRHL hockey and the MORSL baseball leagues.
So Sad, So Sudden. I am surprised to learn of Alan Pang's passing at such a young age.
I have known Alan Pang through my brother, Duncan, since the 1980's. His passion is a genuine connection for outdoor sports, especially street hockey.
We would meet at Duncan's BBQ and Xmas parties and have fun with his kids, Ethan and Jacklyn, and my nephews, playing outdoor games. He particularly like to photograph family gatherings.
Alan is a devoted father and loving parent. I sincerely wish to extend my deepest sympathies to Maggie, Ethan and Jacklyn.
Losing a friend is a real loss.
My family wants to pass on our condolences and prayers to you and your family.
You and your dad officiated many of my son's baseball games this year. Alan was always very helpful giving feedback to coaches when they needed advice that would help the players, as it was always crystal clear that your cared about all the kids in the league.
When I last spoke with your dad, it was at the Markham Baseball appreciation night for the volunteers. Your dad was thrilled to emphasize about how very, very proud he was of you. He spoke about what a great pitcher you are and what a great person he knew you to be.
I can't help but think of Michael Jordan's response when he was once asked about losing his dad prematurely. Michael said that he was sad for the loss, but also incredibly grateful for all the time, love, and guidance that Jordan was able to get while he dad was still alive.
Your dad is in a better place right now and I know he remains filled with Joy when he thinks of what a wonderful person you have become.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Maggie,Ethan and Jaclyn. May God bless and watch over you all during this sad and difficult time.
Anna & Vanessa

Maggie, I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Alan's passing. Although we had lost touch over the years, I have many fond memories of playing softball with Alan. My thoughts and my prayers are with you, Jaclyn, and Ethan.
We have enjoyed having Alan as a member of our Wednesday morning hockey crew for the past 10 years. He never failed to make us laugh arriving each week fully dressed in his gear. All of us are saddened by this news and we will miss him.
We are deeply saddened by the news and in shock. Alan was a great coach to my son years ago. Alan was a very good kind hearted man.
We are shocked and saddened by the passing of Alan. He was a terrific coach, dedicated volunteer and wonderful man. We will miss him greatly. Our deepest sympathies go to Ethan and Jaclyn, Maggie and the rest of Alan's family.
David, Lisa, Luke & Blake
My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this most difficult time. I worked in the same office as Alan for many years. When I retired I came into the office one day, Alan gave me a hug and said he missed my smile. These last words will alway be in my thoughts. Rest in peace my dear friend.
As I write this a couple of hours before the New Year, this will be the first time since 1976 that a year has started without Al, one of my my oldest and dearest friends, in my life. We played so many games together, football, broom ball, sponge hockey and hockey, shared so many memories of working out together and celebrating wins, I cannot believe we will not relive these times in our stories any more. Al was one the original people in the Assassins family of teams, and the friends we still have in common over all these years and his relocation to Toronto speak to our strong bonds and the love we have for each other. Al would drive us crazy with his incessant picture taking, through all the games, weddings, children growing up and all the other experiences of life, and how valuable those pictures seem now.
He has always been a very special person for us, and he cared about all of his old friends as we passed through all of the good times, and especially the bad, I cannot accept that he won't be there any more for us.
It is only a few weeks since we were together, and he spent much of our time telling me about how proud he was of his kids and showing me so many pictures of the two of them at baseball and hockey. I know his children and brother and sisters are in so much pain now, know that his old friends in Winnipeg share that with you. Your dad and brother was so very special, I will think of him always
My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to Maggi, Ethan and Jaclyn as I share the pain of your loss.
Alan & I worked closely together for so many years and while our paths have not crossed recently, we were always able to pick up where we left off.
We celebrated so many milestones over the years and forged a deep respect both personally and professionally. Alan was an amazing father, coach, colleague and friend – always available to help and above all, Alan always remained true to himself.
We have all lost someone very special way too soon. I will cherish Alan's email of December 21st sending all good wishes and hope that he had a chance to read mine.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this very sad time.
Very sad news. I've worked with Alan and will always remember that precious smile. He had such a positive attitude with a very kind heart. My sincerest sympathy & condolences to his family. 3 years ago, you visited our office & gave me a BIG HUG. I remember how you talked about your children & how proud you were. You will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, Alan. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.

My sincerest sympathy and condolences to Alan's family. This is very sad. I've worked with Alan & will always remember that precious smile every time you see him -- a person with a very kind heart. After how many years, I will treasure that BIG hug you gave me. You've always talked about your children and so proud of them. Alan, you will be missed so much. Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you & your family.
He will be sorrfully missed , one of the best human beings I have met in my life time and a wonderful team mate and will grieve his passing from this earth but rejoyce his entering into a beautiful and everlasting place where we will meet him one day again
It was my honour to be a colleague of Alan's at RMS over the past several years. Despite his busy schedule, he always took time to encourage and support others. His gracious, calm, positive manner, warm smile, and kind words of encouragement--as well as the many great photos he took at company functions--will be greatly missed by his work family. Ethan and Jaclyn, your Dad was always so very proud of you and we knew you were his number one priority in life. My thoughts and prayers are with you both and with the rest of your family at this time.
Alan will be missed at the office. He always had a smile and something positive to say.
My thoughts and prayers are for his children and his family.
I am so saddened to lose the friend I had in Alan. He was such a giving, caring and patient man. For the last 8 summers he would help as a coach at KK Shooters Hockey camp so concerned about all the kids and at the same time able to spend time with Ethan and Jaclyn who he loved so very much.
My deepest condolences to Maggie, Ethan and Jaclyn. May God bless you all at this difficult time.
Nelson, Maggie, Artie and family:
Laurel and I were sadend to read of Alan's recent passing and wish to send our sincerest condolences to you and your family. As you know, I had the absolute pleasure of playing and coaching Al for over 15 years in Toronto. Although small in size, it was a special treat for everyone to watch Al undress larger and perhaps more talented players at our blueline with his far superior defensive energy, and understanding of the game of hockey. We were all saddened when he left our group with his move to Markham. His on ice skills and leadership helped us win two of our six championships and for that we will always be grateful and hold his memory in a special place in our hearts, always. - ciao angelo and laurel sgabellone
My deepest condolences go out to Alan's family at this very sad time. Having worked with Alan for many years he always had something kind and positive to say to anyone he met.

Alan was my favourite coach out of all my 6 year baseball career. Taught me everything I needed to know. Great leader and a great coach.
Alan will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Maggie, Ethan, Jaclyn and family. I was shocked to hear the sad news. Alan will be sadly missed. I pray that God will confirm you during this hard time.
I am shocked to hear of Alan's passing. He was my hockey coach for 2 years and he taught me so much on and off the ice. I would not be the player I am today without the help of Coach Alan. He was so dedicated and passionate about hockey and thoughts go out to the Pang family. He will be missed.
Our families have spent numerous Xmases, and holidays together. Our boys have come to know Alan as "Uncle Alan" since they were born. He will be greatly missed. There is a void this New Year's Eve as he was suppose to come here with Ethan and Jaclyn to ring in the New Year. Our hearts are heavy. However, the memories we've made will never leave. The numerous photographs Alan took of the kids sitting at the bottom of the staircase or in front of the Xmas tree has now become a tradition in our house. We will never forget "Uncle Alan".
May he rest in peace!
Sue, Duncan, Dylan, Mitchell and Jonathan Que
Our family was deeply saddened by the news of Alan's death. As a fellow coach in the UMHA House League Midget Division, I truly respect and appreciate what Alan contributed to the positive growth of the young people in our community every week. He will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to Maggie, their children and Alan's family. I was very shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. Alan was always so nice and easy to talk to. He will be missed.
We were so saddened to hear of Alan's passing. We got to know the Pang family first as neighbours, and more recently as a Coach, when this past summer Alan coached Cole in baseball. Alan was an incredible coach and mentor to all of the children he came in contact with. He spent time with each player, working to improve their skills and their confidence in the game. He was a pleasure to watch teaching the kids. His love of Ethan and Jaclyn was evident at all times, he was so very proud of all of their accomplishments. Our condolences to Ethan, Jaclyn and Maggie, we are so very sorry for your loss. David, Lee Anne, Katelyn, Cole and Zoe McCarthy
I've known Alan as a fellow Baseball Coach, parent and friend for a few years and am glad that he and Jaclyn were part of the Markham Mariners Peewee Select team last season. Alan was a great person whose dedication to his children and community was apparent to all who knew him.
When asked to join the team as an Assistant & Pitching Coach, Alan accepted the responsibilities enthusiastically. I learned during our first few email exchanges, even before the first practice, how much he cared about mentoring and teaching the team; his technical knowledge and ongoing learning were invaluable assets passed along through his coaching. One of my favorite memories of Coach Alan is from our post-game team meetings when he would ask the kids “So, what did you learn today?”
Alan, your positive guidance and influence touched the lives of many who will remember you fondly in years to come.
Maggie, Jaclyn, Ethan and the Pang family; we are truly sorry for your loss. Please know that your friends and community are grieving with you.
The Lattanvilles; Brian, Talia, Calvin & Carter
My sincerest and deepest condolences to Alan's family. You are all in my prayers during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, dear friend.
Alan will be missed around baseball diamonds and hockey rinks around Markham, he was a very dedicated volunteer and always took time to thank me for volunteering as I did to him. He did so much for so many children by Coaching and encouraging each and every one of them. He will be missed by many. Jaclyn, Ethan and Maggie and to the rest of Alan's family our sincere condolences to all of you.

All we can say is shocked and sad. In the early 80's I found myself in Toronto for 4 months. I didn't know anyone but the Pang brothers and being into sports myself, Al made sure that I had something to do all the time. Our thoughts are with you today.

Dear Maggie, Ethan, and Jaclyn. It is with sadness and both shock to hear of Alan's passing. Alan was a truly good and respected person.
He gave up his spare time freely volunteering, and sharing knowledge. I found him to be a companionate person who worked tirelessly.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Alan's untimely passing. I worked with Alan many years ago at The Citadel and have fond memories of him. He always had a smile on his face and a very hard worker. He will be missed by many people. My thoughts and prayers go to the family he has left behind. Please take care of yourselves and each other.
I was so sorry to learn of Alan's passing. He was a wonderful person and a privilege to know. My condolences to his family
I am saddended to hear of Allans' sudden passing , have positive memories of him and send my sincere regrets to Maggie and family .
We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Alan's passing. He was such a caring and sensitive person who always showed kindness and respect and would go out of his way to help anyone. We shared many stories of our kids sports accomplishments. He was so very proud of his children and his face would light up when he spoke of them. I had the pleasure of working with Alan for many years and will truly miss seeing him from day to day. Alan, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. You will always be remembered in our hearts and minds.
Our deepest condolences to Jaclyn and Ethan on the loss of their father, and to Maggie, Nelson, Carolyn, Mary, Mabe and their families on the loss of a dear husband, brother and uncle. We are at a loss for words during this sorrowful time. We will always cherish our times spent with Alan - those from many years ago, like when Alan would do one handed push-ups after the first Rocky movie, and those from more recent times, like when he visited us in Ottawa, taught Adrien how to throw a fastball, and photographed a soccer game. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Alan, thanks for always taking me out skating with Jaclyn and being so patient while you taught me to skate all over again every time I stepped on the ice. ("Bend your knees... That's okay, get up and try again...") And when it was Josh's first time playing hockey at KK Shooters, thanks for helping him with everything.
Thanks for showing me how to ride a two-wheeled bike when I was really little by just giving me a push and letting me figure out the rest for myself, for bringing me apple picking with your kids, and for never seeming to mind that I was at your family's house more than my own sometimes. We'll miss you, and I hope you rest in peace.
Elissa, Josh, and Davie
I had the good fortune of meeting Alan on a couple of occasions. It was clearly evident that he was a very caring and giving person.
With sympathy and positive thoughts to the family,
Still trying to take this in, Alan was a lovely person, who I will remember fondly with a camera in his hands, Derek & I will treasure our wedding photos he took for many years to come. Also, I loved the way he would always be organised if we went out for the day, spare socks and an umbrella!! The annoying thing was, he was always right, i needed socks and no matter how sunny it was when we set off ,it would always rain because he said it would !! RIP.
I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Alan's passing, he was a lovely man, thoughts are with all the family
We are deeply sadden by the news. Alan will be missed by the kids and the parents of the Hockey Leagues. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Tazmin, Hanif, Ambareen-Rose and Adam Velji (Markham, Ontario)
Our whole family was shocked and saddened by the news of Alan's passing. We can't imagine a summer without Alan on the ball diamond. He will be deeply missed.
George, Denise, Taylor, Conor, Bradley, Caitlin, and Kieran.
Our deepest condolences to the Pang's family on the passing of a great father and coach. Alan coached my son in a select baseball playoff a few years ago. He literally looked into the potential of every single player, encouraged them, and gave them the best advice to excel. We hope his sportsmanship will pass along to all players. Della, Philip, and son Vincent.
We are truly saddened by the loss of Alan /...dad, at such an early age. We are still in shock and taking things minute by minute. We thank everyone for the texts, emails, calls, food, offers of help and support. It truly means the world to us. We are so saddened that he will not get to witness the achievements, the good and the bad, the happy and sad which life will certainly bring us. This is truly a very sad time.
I wish to say that I will endeavour to continue to raise and take care of our children to the best of my ability. To ensure their success and happiness. They will continue to love and be exposed to hockey and baseball with the support of other role models, and to give back the way their dad did. Thank you to all of our wonderful friends, we couldnt get through this without you!
Love to all. God bless
God has brought you to His glory Alan.
May Magie, Ethan and Jaclyn find comfort in their hearts as they remember great memories with Alan. May The whole family be surrounded with prayers and loving support through this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our most sincere condolences to his family.
We, like the rest of you, are very saddened by the sudden passing of Alan. We are in shock and not quite sure how to move forward, but we are taking each day minute by minute. I am so thankful for the many wonderful friends who are supporting me and the kids through this difficult time.
We are heart broken and cannot believe that Alan will not be there for all of the kids accomplishments in the future. I truly am at a loss for words, except to say that I hope Alan is at peace, and that he knows I will endeavor to do my very best to continue to raise our kids and to help them succeed,to be happy, productive members of society.
We will miss you terribly Alan and we are so sorry that you were taken so early in life. Love you!
We are still in shock to hear the sad news of Alan's passing. We have such wonderful memories of the good times and laughter we shared when we lived in Toronto. Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time. Val, Jim, Alanna and Michael.
When my family and I heard of this, we were shocked. Alan was an amazing coach who taught me the fundamentals of baseball when I first began to play. He was my coach for several years and every year, no matter the result it was a great season. He was a coach who believed that to play well you need a good foundation. We're in shock to hear the sad news about Alan. Alan had been coaching my son Anthony in baseball for a couple of years. He had such a passion for sports and children. He is a very friendly person, a nice daddy and the best coach in baseball. He will be missed by all kids as well as the parents. Our deepest sympathies to the family.
My Family is stunned by this .You would be hard pressed to find anyone as kind hearted and down to earth as Alan, helpful and concerned, always willing to lend a hand even when not asked. We played ball together, played practical jokes on each other (which he was very good at ). He was always going for the home run, didn't know how to bunt. My family and I have many great memories and enjoyed many happy times together with him and his family. It is a sadder, lonlier place without him. In hindsight you always wish you stayed in touch more often, as life does get in the way and we all wish we could have said a proper goodbye, to a true friend. We are very saddened, and can't express our thoughts enough to Maggie,Ethan & Jaclyn in their time of sorrow. Sorry to see you go my friend

Such tragic news... our condolences to the family on this very sad day. Although we were only connected through the coaching fraternity I could tell in my conversations with him that he was truly a dedicated and loving parent. His selfless dedication to helping kids is an inspiration. Our thoughts and prayers go out to from the Chiu family.
I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Alan's passing. My deepest condolences to his family. I only knew Alan for a couple years when he was my supervisor before I retired in Oct. 2011. He was a terrific boss. I know he will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.
I just chatted with Alan a few weeks ago about the kids and sports. We are still in shock and so saddened by the news of his passing. We have known Alan for many years through baseball as a parent, friend, coach and as an Executive member. Alan had such a passion for sports and teaching children. He loved being involved with both Ethan and Jaclyn's teams and many other children would benefit from his passion and knowledge as a result. He will be sadly missed by so many, the Markham / Unionville sports world has lost a great man and a very dedicated volunteer.
Our deepest condolences go out to Maggie, Ethan, Jaclyn and his entire family.
Alan's memory and legacy will live on forever in our hearts and on the ball field.

It is with a great shock to hear the sad news on Alan. I knew Alan playing baseball in MORSL, playing in the TNT Puck N Ball and for his volunteer work coaching kids in sports around Markham. I know that Alan lived for his kids and being active with them in sport. A number of times last winter I saw Alan at the outdoor rink in Markham where he helped my daughter learn to skate. He will be missed by many extended families that had the pleasure to know him. You will be missed but never forgotten.
We were all very shocked and saddened when we heard Alan's sudden passing. Our sincere condolences to your family, Maggie, Ethan and Jaclyn. You are all in our thoughts.
It is with great sadness that I extend our deepest sympathy to Alan's family.
He was a wonderful coach, always a sincere and friendly face at the arena, and a positive role model for those he coached. Alan clearly adored his two beautiful children and I hope they are blessed with their father's caring and gentle spirit. You will be missed Alan.
Dear Maggie, Ethan & Jaclyn
We are so shocked and saddened to hear about Alan. He was a wonderful, caring man and we will always remember him for his love of all children, and his passion for sports and photography. He warmed everyone's heart by the many pictures he took and distributed.
Please know that you're in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Sometimes life just isn't fair.
Lot of love always,
Gary, Joan, Chris & Kaitlin Ritchie
Alan and I knew each other for many years, as business colleagues and more importantly as friends. We shared a number of ups and downs in our lives, not the least of which was each of us losing a parent less than a week apart. We helped each other through the rough patches and celebrated the good.
I cannot adequately put into words the shock felt upon hearing the news, and great sorrow that such a good and kind individual has left us too soon.
Our thoughts go out to Alan's family. We will miss him very much.
I cannot express in words the heartfelt sorrow I had when I heard of Alan's passing. We worked in different departments at RMS but had a common bond through the world of sports. Our conversations about our beloved Montreal Canadiens, sports trivia and coaching our kids will always be a fond memory for me and they will be sorely missed. His passion for the kids he coached and for his own children was unmatched. You could feel him bursting with pride whenever he spoke of Ethan and Jaclyn My heart is aching for the whole family.
Although I only met Alan last summer when he coached my son Dominic's House League Baseball team, I was impressed by his passion and enthusiam in helping players to improve. He was a wonderful, cheerful person and we shared many good memories during the season. Dominic and all players enjoyed playing with Alan and he will always be remembered.
Just before Christmas, I ran into him during a Hockey practice and we had a good conversation about parenting and family. He was a loving father and husband.
We are sorry and sad to hear the news. Our deepest sympathies to the family. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
We are stunned by the sudden loss of Alan, our fellow Unionville Jets coach for several years. He was a dedicated and caring coach for hockey and baseball, showing exceptional patience and kind understanding with the players he guided, which included our son Adam. He was devoted to helping his children Ethan and Jaclyn with seemingly endless energy and time at the rink or field. Our community has lost a great contributor and is the poorer for his passing. With deep sorrow we extend our sympathy to his family.

Maggie I am so sorry to hear of your husband's sudden passing. You and your family are in my thoughts.
Words cannot describe the shock and sorrow we are all feeling during this very difficult time. Alan was respected by so many. He enjoyed passing onto others the love of sport, which was a role he took great pride in. We will miss him terribly. Our thoughts are with Maggie, Ethan and Jaclyn during this very difficult time.
A great man and no doubt an inspiration to many young athletes, your time here with us was much too short, may you rest in peace and my condolences to his family, you will be missed but not forgotten.
I was very saddened by the news of Alan's passing. We worked together for several years, enjoyed a little hockey together and had some great sports conversations. I'll miss him.
I'm saddened and shocked by the news of Alan's passing. It was not even a week ago that we played hockey together and chatted about our experiences as coaches in our childrens hockey. I'm so sorry to hear this terrible news and extend my heartfelt condolences to Alan's family.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Alan's death. He was certainly the most caring coach our son ever had. They always learned more than just the finer points of baseball. Alan had a certain dignity as coach and took his role to heart. We will miss him. Our hearts ache for his children and entire family. The Williams family.

I shook his hand and wished him the best for the holidays as I left the office on Christmas Eve.....Alan shared his thoughts, friendship and offered guidance to me over the past few years. Words are never enough in moments like this, except I can only pray and offer my deepest condolences to his children and family during this difficult time. He will be missed.
Alan touched so many people's lives. We will miss him as a coach, a neighbour and a friend. Our heartfelt condolences to his family with extra big hugs to Jaclyn and Ethan.
This is very shocking and saddening. I knew Alan first through MDBA as a parent of one of the players parent and later, as a fellow softball player in MORSL. His kindness, patience and zest for teaching was evident in both cases. That, his spirit of volunteerism and his ever present smile, will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family.
We're in shock and so sorry to hear the news. Our son, Dawson, still talks about everything he learned from Alan during his first year of organized baseball. We loved Alan's passion for the game. He was a good man and we are just devastated for his children and his wife.
Our deepest condolences to Alan's family during this sad and difficult time, especially to his children, Ethan and Jaclyn. He adored them both and was so proud of them. He was a good friend to our family and we will miss him. R.I.P. Alan, you will always be remembered with much fondness.

This is with great sadness that I write this. What I am feeling right now is hard to put into words.
I knew Alan for many years and he was a great friend and I will miss him so much.
Our favourite past time was to get together now and then for a game of golf. The game was fun but really it was a time to talk about life and I will treasure those memories.
He loved his family more than anything and that was always his number one focus.
Please accept my deepest sympathies
I felt deep sadness when I heard of Alan's passing. We have been long time colleges although it has been some time since I have seen him having relocated to a different branch. I will have fond memories of the sparkle in Alan's eyes when he spoke of his children. Sports was usually the topic of our discussions and how proud he was of both of their acheivements.
Alan you will be missed and remember fondly.
