October-15-11
October 15, 2011
One month has passed, though it feels like just yesterday, since I received that dreaded phone call from my nephew Michael, my brother John's beloved son, telling me that John had been felled by a massive heart attack.

The sorrow and heartache left in the wake of John's passing is relentless and ever present.

Making sense of John's passing is an exercise in futility for me. However, reflecting on how devastated John's passing has left his family and friends, I understand that this is the ultimate tribute to the great man my big brother was. He touched so many in such a positive way with his selfless support and good humour.

I regret that in this life, time spent with my brother has been cut short. But, I am forever grateful to have had John as my big brother.

John was a true gentleman, and a gentle man, who's memory will live in my heart forever.

Love, Sam.

There are no words that will adequately describe the degree of sorrow and loss we feel at the untimely passing of JOHN.
For the past forty years we have cherished our visits to Toronto and your
visits to Ottawa and the cottage. We say
with absolute conviction that there were
no more gracious hosts and guests in our
circle of friends. It is a certainty that
John would want our special relationship to continue uninterrupted.Yes,let us
grieve at the fact that John is not, currently with us physically, but be
joyous that he will be with us spiritually until the day we are reunited
eternally.
With much love,
Brenda,Dick,Danny,Dougie,David and Family

Dear Mary, Julie and family,

Although we knew you for just a few short days when we met on our cruise to Mexico, Tom and I will remember what a wonderful couple you and John were. We had such a great time; we were serious, we were happy, we were hilarious. Not often do we get to spend time each evening with such a great couple. Our sincerest condolences to you and your entire family. we shall remember him in our prayers. Tom and Pat Huizing
