Janet. I attended the tribute to your son. A beautiful and memorable service. I still remember him in my prayers every day and I also pray that your pain at being "temporarily" parted from him will become easier to bear...Val Taylor, Cobourg

First and foremost I want to thank all those that came out to the tribute I gave for my son Joshua. It was incredibly touching to me to see the amount of people that did not even know my son come out to pay their honour and respect for Joshua. For those that were also there that knew him I would like to thank them for taking the time also to come out and pay tribute to my son. I would like to thank Laura (Joshua's Girlfriend) who became a part of my life several months before my son's death. We are continuing to walk a journey without our sunshine that has been life shattering for both of us. I am extremely grateful for her for all she has done and continues to do for Joshua and myself. I especially want to thank her for going to Afghanistan. She was beyond selfish and despite the magnitude of her pain she went solely to pay tribute to my son for both of us. Joshua you were an extraordinary son that I miss more and more as time goes on. The excruciating pain of losing you is overwheming for me. You were everything to your mother and now all that has been taken away from me. I never thought I would ever be in this life without you. You were so full of life with so much ahead of you but for a reason only God knows he felt your journey in this life was over, even though as your mother I feel your life was cut far, far to short. Joshua you are a Hero to many people but to your mother you will always be my little baby boy who held out your hand to me a long time ago. Gripping it softly, I grabbed hold of your heart, and I knew it became a part of me forever. You brightened my life with your caring heart and beautiful smile. I will always cherish you son and want you to know how very proud I am of you. I will love you forever Joshua and will rejoice at the time I will see you again in heaven.
Love Forever, Mom xoxoxo

Joshua, I can't believe it has been a year since you have been gone. You were the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and I can't believe that our dreams will never come true.I miss you more everyday.I miss watching the stars with you, and our adventures. It's hard to think that I will never hear your laugh or see your handsome smile on this earth. I can't believe you didn't come home the way you promised. I am and will always be the proudest girlfriend. Your mother and I supported eachother while you were in Afghanistan, and we continue to. I was privledge enough to go to Afghanistan and represent your mother and myself. I will never have closure, there is nothing that will ever change the impact of losing you. You will always be a part of my life, and will be forever written on my heart. Love Always, Laura Mills xoxoxo
