KOTO ADACHI Obituary

KOTO ADACHI (YATABE) Peacefully, after a full and happy life, on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Mount Sinai Hospital. Much beloved wife of the late Terry (Teruo) for over 62 years. Dearly loved mother of Kathi and her partner Doug LeClerc. Dear sister of Masao Yatabe (Amy), Minoru Yatabe (Lydia), and Marnie Hirano (late Gus). Predeceased by sister Joanne Kiyonaga (late Jerry), brother Eiji (Kazuko), Phil (late Lorraine, late Irene), Tom (Roe). Sister-in-law of Dick Adachi and the late Ken Adachi (Mary). Step-daughter-in-law of Midori Adachi. Loving aunt and great- aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Koto was outgoing and sociable, enthusiastically travelling both in and outside of Canada. She acted in plays, rode horses in the Don Valley and car camped all across Canada. An active member of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, the Wynford Seniors club and her bowling league, she was a valuable help in Terry's many sumi-e activities. We thank the wonderful staff at Mount Sinai for making Mom's last days so comfortable and peaceful. Visitation will be held at HIGHLAND FUNERAL HOME - SCARBOROUGH CHAPEL, 3280 Sheppard Avenue East (West of Warden) on Thursday, May 30 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Friday, May 31 at 11 a.m. Burial in HIGHLAND MEMORY GARDENS CEMETERY. In lieu of flowers or koden, donations may be made to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre or to the charity of your choice.

Kathi, my thoughts are with you. I wish I could be there to share in the memory of yor wonderful mother. Every time I think of Koto i am reminded of her warm inviting smile. She will be fondley remembered.
