Matthew Golec Obituary

golec, Matthew "Matt" - Surrounded by the love of his family, Matt passed away peacefully on October 18, 2013 at Brampton Civic Hospital at the young age of 31. Beloved son of Richard and Linda Golec. Best friend and dear brother of Daniel. Matt will be missed by his sister-in-law Janice and nephews Sebastian and Allister. Also missed by his grandmother Mary Golec, his Uncle Alex, Aunt Denice and Uncle Michael, and extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at the SCOTT FUNERAL HOME "Brampton Chapel," 289 Main Street North, Brampton (905-451-1100), on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Canadian Lung Association or www.beadonor.ca would be appreciated by the family. You are invited to sign Matt's Book of Condolences at www.scott-brampton.ca

Matt touched so many of us in his too short life. I know I'm not the only one who will remember Matt as a quirky, fun and consistent friend even when it when it wasn't "cool" or "popular". He was unapologetic in all of his unusual glory.

Matt was a brilliant, hilarious force to be reckoned with, and for this he will be missed by many.

Sending love and healing to the Golec family, Matt's friends and loved ones.
