Dear Linda, Ken and family,

I just received the very sad news of your dad's passing. Oh how my heart feels for you all on a year filled with such deep loss. Heaven has received another dear angel in your father.

It warms my heart to recall childhood memories and the caring nature of both of your parents. I will forever be indebted to Mr. and Mrs. Berry for the caring support extended to both Peter and I during our battle with cancer.

Words nor time can ever mend a broken heart but know today this broken heart hugs yours.

Love to you all,
Barb Atell

Doug and I want to tell you how sad we are that you have lost your Dad now too. We're sure that he was lost without your Mom. We did enjoy geting his emails. It kind of kept us in touch. He was a good man. He leaves behind proof of that in his children and grandchildren. Our condolences to you and yours Doug and Darlene Guinn Thunder Bay, Ont.

With great sadness Sid will be missed in the court. We will cherish the good memorable chats on the front porch of the house, talking about the family and life in general. When we look across from our window, we have a heavy heart, you will be missed Sid. John and Lorraine Jackson

Lyda and I had the pleasure of working with Sid at General Vanier Secondary School. Sid's print shop was well known to everyone in the Durham Board as a place of excellence. Sid's wicked sense of humour was a treat for everyone. One would need a print shop like Sid's to tell his story adequately - everyone has a favourite Sid story.
Sid, you will be missed.

Your friendship will be greatly missed. You and Donna and John and I shared great Saturday night dinners with Ross & Eileen. Rest in peace

Uncle Sid gave me my first motorcycle ride. I think it was on a 1946 Harley Davidson. We rode on the dusty trail beside the 29 Winter Avenue , up and down a few times, enough to give to make we wide eyed and thrilled. I also got a ride in Sid's new 57 Chevy. As I recall it was yellow with a black roof with lots of chrome.

Always dapper and fashionable Sid knew how to look good . That, 'Berry blessing' of a nice hair , well groomed, accompanied by a soft smile and a kind heart is how I'll remember Sid.

Uncle Sid had a bit of mischief and fun in him. He was a good guy to have on your side.

I spoke with Sid about two weeks ago and most of the conversation was him telling me about his family, their accomplishments, their frequent visits and the caring they showed him.

I'll miss Sid's emails both naughty and nice his occasional conversations but I will cherish his enthusiasm for family and life.

My memories are of a very caring man who when my own father died in my second year of teaching at General Vanier, it was Sid who I knew was always watching over me. He was a father figure and mentor to so many young teachers at Vanier. He made each day important and made sure we never forgot why we were teachers, his students and ours. I was blessed to reconnect with Sid recently and have him at my own retirement.

God Bless you, Sid!
