Grandpa, I love you so much and I miss you! I am the luckiest granddaughter in the world to have had you in my life! Thank you for caring so much for us with food and a big smile. You were always there when we needed you and I really appreciate that and it felt great knowing you would AWAYS be there waiting for us. I will never forget you! You will always be in my heart!
Love always, alex XOXOX

The is no other man like Sid Berry - My associate teacher in 1982, he was the best role model anyone could ask for. He loved teaching and did not put up with any nonsense from the students. I can still hear him telling the students to get back to their jobs in the graphics/print shop. He told me I had to just be real with the kids and they would do alright. He gave them hope when many others would not have. I followed his advice and have never been sorry. He cared about everyone around him and always put so much effort into creating a welcoming environment at General Vanier. I will always remember him - his laughter and big hugs, his sense of humour, the way he bragged about his grandchildren and his love of life. What an honour it was to work with him and to learn from him. He is with his beloved Donna now. Rest in peace Sid - you have lived a life that has made a difference for so many. My deepest sympathy to his family - I know that you will miss him. With love, admiration and respect from Nancy Stairs.

As a teacher new to General Vanier SS in 1979, Sid was supportive and encouraging to me. He was a good mentor. His teaching style provided many students with confidence about a future. He taught many of us about the art of printing and was always a great friend. He was the only Department Head I had in 32 years of teaching. Will remember many laughs and his big smile. The printing presses in heaven will never be the same now that Sid is in charge. Marie Gabriel, OCT

I begin this tribute with a very sad and heavy heart. Sid was the kindest, most sincerest man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He embraced me from the moment we met, August 1977 at General Vanier Secondary School. The rest is history. Sid brought love, joy, caring, happiness and deep friendship to me, for which I will be so truly grateful for the rest of my life. Today, an appropriate day, November 11, I would like to honour my friend, Sid, as a "hero". What he has given to my life can never be taken. I will remember Sid everyday for the rest of my life. When Sid died, a piece of my life became history and, yet another chapter closed. To Linda, Kenny, Annalle, Glenn, Alexandra, Sydney and all his remaining relatives, thank you for sharing Sid with me for all those years and for embracing me into your families as well. Your love and friendship is, and will always be cherished. You have lost a great dad, father-in-law, grandpa, brother, and friend, which, I know you will never forget. My deepest and most sincerest sympathies to you all, always, Mary Pizer
