William John "Will" Hayden

William Hayden Obituary

WILLIAM JOHN 'WILL' HAYDEN With great sadness we announce the passing of William on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the age of 25. Loving son of Jack and Diane Hayden and dear brother to Jim. He will be sadly missed by all his aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Will was born on December 3, 1984 in Oakville, Ontario and attended Brantwood Public School and Oakville Trafalgar High School. He successfully completed a Business Program at Capilano University in Vancouver, B.C. and enjoyed a term in Finland as an exchange student. After his term in Finland, Will continued to travel to Russia, England and throughout Europe before meeting up with us in Spain to see the America's Cup. Will's friends were always finding reasons to visit him in Vancouver to ski Whistler, Gross Mountain, Cypress and Kicking Horse. Last summer, Will returned to Vancouver and from there, drove down to Southern California where he made a lot of new friends and learned to surf. Last December he followed some friends to Brisbane, Australia, where he found work and loved life. He saved enough money to buy an old camper to travel to Melbourne travelling the Great Ocean Road and back to Sydney. He spent his last days in the peaceful and beautiful Blue Mountains. Will always lived life to the fullest, skiing double black diamond runs, learning to surf in California, hang gliding off Gross Mountain and diving off the Great Barrier Reef. He was wise beyond his years and lived a full life. We take comfort in the fact his short life has touched so many. He was much loved and will be forever missed. A private family service will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 'Oakville Chapel' (905-844-3221) . Our thanks to all our family and friends for their support and kindness during this difficult time. A Book of Memories may be signed at www.wardfuneralhome.com - we look forward to many pictures, happy stories and memories about Will. If desired, donations may be made to the Centre For Addiction and Mental Health, 901 King Street West, Suite 502, P.O. Box 20, Toronto, Ontario M5V 3H5 (www.supportcamh.ca) in Will's memory.

I am so saddened by this news. Diane, my heart goes out to you and your entire family. Though we are not close, our connection through Will goes back to when he was in first grade. I knew him as a sweet young child and I can see that he grew to be an adventurous independent young man to be proud of. Though life will not be the same without him, please know that I was touched by that little boy and I will always remember him and I am offering my deepest condolences at this time.
