Condolence to the family. I first met Gary in January 1964 and we have friends ever since...and political adversaries in recent years. Always interesting and informative discussions no matter what the topic. Enjoyed our annual dinners in Victoria to get caught up on contemporary politics in Saskatchewan. His book, Frontier Farewell blew me away....a solid, solid academic work that everyone interested in Western Canadian history must read. A memorable accomplishment for the boy from Limerick.
Gary knew everyone...all of Saskatchewan Premiers back to Tommy Douglas and all the Liberal Prime Ministers back to Diefenbaker and moved comfortably and confidently in their company...his work in law and in writings have been a great contribution to the Province that he loved and was was such a great part of....rest in peace...a life well spent.

My connection is through my parents, the Lees when Dad managed the bank in Limerick. Will recall his love of the land, dogs, hunting, just enough patience to get things done, book launches, matchmaking (Serge and Darlene), his recently joining the "wheelchair brigade" and the adjustment, eating together, his Miata, his "presence", his family. Murray, Heather.
A fond farewell Garry, you made a difference

To the Wilson family.

Although Garrett and I seldom agreed on politics, or much of anything else in conversation, we enjoyed having a few laughs discussing such worldly matters.

The book Deny, Deny is a Saskatchewan classic - one that had to be written!

Ross Thatcher, Davey Steuart and Emmett Reidy will be glad of Garrett's company in the hereafter, above!

It was a sad day when I heard that this multi-talented lawyer, public servant, political participant, writer, social historian, and justice advocate passed away. I interviewed him just last month and appreciated his generosity in allowing the interview when he was in such frail health, his frankness and his feisty stance when contesting information and opinions. He will truly be missed by those who take Saskatchewan events and history seriously.

As president of the Sask. Liberal Party from 1971 to 1975, Garry was my boss when I worked for the party as executive directer. We stayed in contact since then and met once or twice a year when I passed through Regina. He had a brilliant mind and an exceptional knowledge of all things political. He was a man of principle. Rest in peace, my good friend.

My name is Ted Wilson. Garrett was my Great Uncle. His father, Irish Charlie Wilson was my grandfather Nicholas Wilson. I connected with Garrett about 2 years ago and he sent me "Outlier". I finished reading it today and was saddened to read about his domise before I has thanked him again for all the memories he had created. I hope our son Tim will get form Calgary to his celebration.

Lesley, Tamara and Kevin- so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I will remember his great stories out at the cabin and his love of "Canadiana...law and nature"

So many of us will miss his steady presence, his many years of experience from which he could draw, and his vast range of knowledge. He will also be remembered as a gifted writer. My deepest sympathy to his family.
