Kelly Matthew Peace
March 10, 1952 - July 1, 2012
The family of Kelly Peace is deeply saddened to announce his passing at St. Paul's Hospital, following an eight month struggle with cancer. He passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 with his family by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kathy (Fior); daughter, Kerri (Derek) Hunchak; grandchildren, Cole, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn of Martensville; son, Ryan of Calgary; siblings, Wayne (Barb), Carol (Bob) Maxwell, Joyce (Dennis) Walsh, and Stuart (Val); many nieces and nephews; Kathy's parents, Dick and Gerry Fior; brothers-in-law, Rick, Todd (Trish); and sister-in-law, Karen (Larry) Wiseman. Kelly was born March 10, 1952 in Wadena, SK to the late Kenneth and Gunna Peace. He attended school and graduated from Wadena Composite High School. Kelly worked as a steel worker, as well as farming in Wadena. Kelly's passion for horses drew him to Marquis Downs, where he enjoyed his hobby, and his ever lasting friendships. He met Kathy at the track and married July 20, 1996. Kelly was predeceased by his father, Kenneth in 1964; mother, Gunna in 2005; brother-in-law, Lorne Walsh in 1999; grandparents, Matthew and Inga Peace, Ofeigur and Hildur Ketilson. The family would like to express their sincere thank you to all the health care professionals at Royal University and St. Paul's Hospitals.
