Such a special lady - such a loss - so many fond memories of her and all the visits we enjoyed to savour the special food at the Taj Mahal. Much sympathy and love to the whole family.
We live in hope of seeing her again.

Our deepest condolences to the Vasani's on the sudden death of your family matriarch, Rano. We grew to know and love your restaurant after a trip to England, where we experienced our first Indian food and fell in love with it. Upon returning to Saskatoon, we walked though your doors and found the same taste in a genuinely friendly and family atmosphere. Our sons,Tyler and Geoff ended up playing floor hockey with the son that was becoming a teacher. We got to know you as a loving family and we have missed seeing all of you these last few years. We are sad to hear of your loss and offer our prayers for your consolation.

Dear Nitu and family,
Lois and I were very saddened to read of Rano's untimely passing. We have very fond memories of her and you, stretching over more than thirty years. She excelled at her craft and everything else she did and we were fortunate to enjoy your family's warmth and hospitality, whether on the West Side, Broadway or in the old KG. We always looked forward to our visits home, so that we could come to the Taj Mahal. Our deepest condolences on your loss.

Dear Nitu, Beemal, Amal, Amar and family,
We are deeply sorry to hear of dear Rano's passing and send you all wishes of comfort. Every time we entered your restaurant, it was like entering your home with your strong family bond, joy and warmth. We loved your mom's nourishing and unbelievably good food and the special ingredients she added with her love and care. We were lucky to take a cooking lesson from her and will cherish the magic she generously shared with us.
Thank you for sharing her with us for so many years. So many great memories with friends and family were created around your table, none of which will be forgotten.
Wishing you all peace now and always.

My sincere condolences to Nitu and all the family in the loss of a wonderful woman. Although I only met her in the Taj Mahal Restaurant, I saw, in her beautiful, smile and sparkling eyes, and I heard in her endearing, comments, the deep love she had, not only for her husband and family, but for creating the best Indian cuisine this city has ever experienced. She was an exceptional chef and I am so grateful to have been a recipient of her exquisite cuisine. May she now rest in peace after a life well lived. My thoughts and sympathy are offered to all of you. May her legacy live on in all of you. Lynda Browning.

I was so sorry to learn of Rano's death. My husband and I followed Rano's fine cooking from Saskatoon's West side, to Broadway Ave and then downtown, enjoying every bite and a warm welcome. Nathan and our other children also send their best thoughts to you all at this sad time.
