Hi All
I have been gradually scanning the old photos and now have some of them up on the web. Take a look when you have a few moments.

To Gary and Ricky:

Whenever one of our age group passes on, those who are left, from the Springwater area, remember.

The news of the passing of Marilyn Courtenay brought many Springwater-ites, back to the late 1940's and early 1950's. It was usual in those Springwater community days to gather at least weekly in some families house; or back yard in the village, with a guitar. In our village the music was thanks to Ron Heimbecker (Verna Helsendagers brother).

It was at these times that the ``Springwater Village singers``, perched on some families woodpile, would get harmonizing. These were singers who doubled on Sunday - at Springwater church - singing in the choir.

These were great times and Marilyn contributed to a lot of our youthful village fun. Your mother had a great sense of humour those were marvelous days.

Please accept our sincere condolences regarding your mothers passing.

We were so saddened to hear your mom Marilyn passes away. Seeing her a few times over the last couple of years,I could see that her health was failing.
I have so many great memories of fun times we had as kids.We always spent a lot of time outside at your grandparents farm. Usually because we were barred from the house. We would laugh ourselves silly over the smallest of things.
Then when our kids and you boys were young,we had lots of great times together.Neither of us had much money,so it would be off to the drive-in with a bushel of popcorn & some kool-aid.
I always had such admiration for your mom. She worked so hard to give you boys a good education,& she was so proud of you both.
Bob,thank you for taking such good care of Marilyn. It wasn't easy for you after she had her stroke, but you were there for her.
I have so many good memories of the great times Marilyn & I had. I will treasure them forever
Our sympathy goes out to you all.

Some of my fondest memories of living and working in Saskatoon involve Marilyn. And most of these include humor. As a creative writer, Marilyn was tops! She was so skilled at choosing just the right word—this ability made her story telling most memorable. I and others never tired of Marilyn taking us down memory lane. Here recollections of all of the colorful characters that worked at CFQC during the 50's, 60's and 70's were hilarious.

I met your mother in 1974 when I began my first stint at CFQC. She immediately took me under her wing---teaching me how to make the most of every dollar and the magic of compounding interest.

Although illness prevented us from seeing each other in recent years, I will always cherish our phone conversations. Never did I dream that our conversation in August would be our last.

Gary and Rick I was stunned to hear of your mother passing. She was so proud of you both. You are blessed to have had so an amazing woman as your mother.

Bob, although we never did meet, I am so glad that Marilyn was able to find such a supportive partner.

Love and prayers to all of Marilyn's family.
