Dear Andres Family; Your Mother and Grand Mother has left a beautiful legacy in all of you her precious family. May you experience comfort and peace as you celebrate her wonderful life.
September-28-17
My dear cousins Clifford, Albert, Edwin, Elaine, Anita, and Shirley:

I deeply wanted to see you all at this time, especially since I don't get do so otherwise; and I really tried to find a way to make it out, but once again it didn't work.

Children don't spend much time thinking about their godparents as such; but I still remember an occasional extra feeling of assurance as an eldest child, knowing that your mum and dad had promised we'd be looked after somehow, should the unthinkable ever happen!

Aunt Mary created a personalised needlepoint for our marriage which my Annette always featured either on the mantle (where I'm looking at it now) or more often, above our headboard. I don't recall any wedding present she appreciated more! This piece, signed on the back by your mum, was also displayed at my wife's Wake.
Annie and Aunt Mary met only a few times, but they instantly loved, and quickly admired, one another. Even in Auntie's table settings and decor, my visual Annette enjoyed observing her "old-European dignity".
As my wife and I went through years of terminal illness together, and as your mother was concurrently becoming confused; I would at times look at her prayer for us on the wall, and know the Holy Spirit was continuing to answer Auntie's prayers for us both.

What an aunt! What a Christian god-mum!
